Tasty
Not bad. I took them camping. I had them in case I got stuck longer than usual due to fires or whatever the hell else is going to happen in this apocalypse. I tried one just to see how they were but ended up nibbling a few more throughout my trip.I was anxious to get home and out of the desert so I didn't want to make any stops. One of these was my lunch on the side of the road. They're good for little meals to keep from going hangry.Cool packaging too.

Good survival food
As another reviewer mentioned, these are survival foods, not gym rat power bars or kids lunch snack. These were originally invented for storage in life boats and are Coast Guard approved. The lifespan is 5 years and will withstand up to 149 degree heat!! I store these in all my emergency gear esp my jeep as it can withstand Texas heat. Mayday also makes emergency food for your pets.These have a hard cake/cookie like texture with sort of a shortbread like taste. You will be bored after a few days eating this, but you will be alive. I like this size as it fits in all kinds of small places, like glove boxes.

A Pretty Good Bar
Remember that this is NOT a protein bar and is intended for pure survival mode only. This is a ration bar meant only to keep you alive while you expend minimal effort - you are waiting for rescue. Tasty and non-thirst provoking, I found this bar tasty and easy to ingest. I included pictures for your review including the crumbs left over as "waste". Boosted with vitamins and nutrients, these will get you by in dire circumstance. I recommend putting them in BoB, GHB, car, boat, a few in the house...Those with diabetes, be aware. This bar will bang your sugars if you wolf it down. Nibble accordingly.

It tastes better than cat food
It tastes better than cat food, but it definitely is for survival mode only, this is not a dual use survival and/or power bar or snack bar (for that we love the Soldier's Bars). The taste is actually ok, kind of like banana cinnamon, but t's very chalky and crumbly. We laughed together at the only previous review which says it is non-thirsty, as is about as dry as you can imagine, so I can't fathom eating a whole bar without water. The good news it has a long shelf life and doesn't appear that it would spoil leaving it in a hot car for years, etc.

Delivered super fresh
I've bought a large Mayday bar before and ate it after some 3 years in storage. These bars are very dense, I will through a few in my bug out bag probably one each in my laptop and gym bag just in case. It's October and I appreciate that SafeCastle sent bars that were manufacted in Sept; the last one I ordered from a different company was already a year old

Good item!
Just got this order to replace the same item I’d been storing for many years. Tossed all of the old ones except one. Opened it up took a nibble and it was still ok.
