FIT Plus 256 GB Type-A 300 MB/s USB 3.1 Flash Drive (MUF-256AB)

I abandoned my usual brand well-known due to overheating and total loss of data on two occasions and decided to try Samsung. I am so glad I did. Superior in every respect. Small size, no heat problems and very reliable. From now on, I, ll stick with Samsung.

Purchased 2 of these little beauties for my laptop. One is permanently plugged into the laptop and runs Manjaro Linux 18.02 (KDE). Very discreet....only sticks out about 1cm from laptop. As regards speed in real world scenario (as opposed to Benchmark scenario), this little flash drive is much faster than any mechanical hard drive, and only a bit slower than SSD in my experience. I use "Clonezilla" to clone (make a perfect copy) of original Samsung Flash drive. The whole process takes about 28 minutes from start to finish and that is to copy 108 GB of data. That is a sustained transfer rate of 70MB per second continuously for almost half an hour...astonishing! Please bear in mind that operating systems like Linux are comprised of hundreds of thousands of small files, and flash drives are much slower at copying these sorts of files (or large numbers of small jpegs for that matter) than say a small number of large media files. It also runs relatively cool. Even after 30 minutes of copying files, it is warm, but still cool enough to touch. All in all another great Samsung product at a great price. Highly recommended.

I have this compact flash drive permanently installed in a USB 3 slot in my 2016 Macbook Pro to provide additional storage for my mp3 files and photos. It sits alongside a 128 GB Transcend SD card drive. The Samsung flash drive is not only fast enough for my home use, but it automatically reboots reliably when I restart the computer or open it up from sleep mode. I'm very happy with the amount of storage for the price.

I purchased this to replace a full size portable SSD and it does the job perfectly. The best thing, being so small, is that I can leave it plugged in and forget about it. The downside is that it is easy to miss place or lose it but I’ll have to get used with it and being careful where I place it when not in use. Overall it is great tiny thing and it doesn’t get as hot as other fit usb flash drives .

I was a bit wary of buying this due to the mixed reviews. But so far, it seems to be working pretty well. Occasionally, it disconnects itself automatically, although it hasn't happened when I've been actually using it (I install and run games on it). As far as I can tell, the auto disconnect seems to happen when my WiFi adaptor is acting up, but that may just be coincidence. But overall, I'm pretty happy with the size and speed of this USB stick, and I love that it fits so snugly with my laptop, making it entirely portable. It's also doubled my storage capacity and I've been able to free up a lot of space by moving non-essential stuff over to the USB. So I'd say it's a good solution for those looking for the extra storage capacity without having to carry a bulky external hard drive.

I have held out for a micro fit size usb drive from Samsung to compete with the updated 256gb Sandisk 256gb drive. Unfortunately, I finally ran out of space on the Samsung 128gb usb drive I bought to replace a 128gb sandisk micro fit that ran very hot and eventually started to silently lose data (thank God I was fastidious with my backups). I've only had it a few days but can confirm it is almost twice the speed of my old 128gb Samsung micro fit I have but it's also quite a lot larger. Thankfully, it still just fits in my laptop case when attached to the laptop but only just. In summary, I'm very happy with the speed and the temperature but would have preferred it to be smaller - I'm not certain why it isn't as 256gb micro sd cards are available.

Purchased this to stick in the side of a 2014 MacBook Pro USB3.0 port as I was running out of internal space. I copied Apple Music personal library to it, then have been using it to access this ever since and it’s been fine. Slightest bit of lag loading album covers when scrolling very fast through a 20,000 song library, but otherwise this is so much easier than having an SSD with a cable dangling out the side for portability. Loading across the library (138Gb) was done inside 20 minutes. Only issue has been with Apple Music software as a few album covers and links to tracks went AWOL in the copy over but that’s all Apple issues not Samsung’s. Overall, very pleased with it. Very portable, very cheap for £45 (256Gb) and seems to be working just fine for this particular application.

So far, I'm really pleased! I wanted a high-quality, high-storage, 'slim line' flash drive. It ticks those boxes. I ended up buying a second one! The only difference I'd like to see is a USB Type C, rather than a Type A.

La verdad es que es una maravilla poder manejar un espacio tan grande en un Pen de semejante tamaño. Es cómodo, es pequeño, y gracias a su tamaño no sueles tener problemas en conectarlo a cualquier dispositivo, ya sea tv, ordenador, etc. como si ocurre con otros de mayor tamaño que al estar las entradas USB a veces tan pegadas si es de tamaño mayor no se pueden usar todas. La capacidad para mis necesidades va más que de sobra, aunque seguramente en un futuro saquen capacidades mucho mayores, pero como todo que va evolucionando. Otra de las cosas a tener en cuenta es la velocidad de transferencia de datos, para mí fue uno de los aspectos a tener en cuenta. Para que os hagáis una idea, ante una película por ejemplo que ocupe un tamaño de 4 o 5 GB en un Pen normal que pueda tardar unos 6-8 minutos aproximadamente aquí lo hace en 1-2 como mucho. Si tuviera que poner una pega es precisamente su tamaño, por el hecho de que al ser tan pequeño pues debes andarte más con ojo para no perderlo, pero vamos, teniendo cuidado no debe pasar nada.

Good build quality USB. Speeds can be better but not a bad buy for $40AUD.

It obviously depends on the SD card controller your system has, but mine returned the performance you see in the attached screenshot. One of the fastest flash drives of this form factor. I had no problem formatting and readying it for my nVidia Shield TV 4K system at home. I transferred a bunch of games and emulation applications for retro gaming, along with all the ROM and ISO files and large games like Asphalt. The system is pretty fast and using it does not feel like you're using external storage. I got it for ~45 bucks Canadian after it was on a 15% discount and think that it is worth it in every way. Performance, portability and the small loop for use in your keychain and etc. In short, I made a happy and efficient purchase.

I was a bit reluctant to purchase this because of the high price tag. Other brands sell the same capacity of drive for a fraction of the price, but now that I've had it for about a week and have been using it i'm very happy with my purchase. The speed is staggering and much better than any flash drive I've ever owned. The tiny size is a huge plus as well for laptop users who don't want an unweildly large drive sticking out of the port. My only concern is whether or not it will last as there are a few reviews citing problems later on. I will edit this review if I run into any problems.

Muy rápido de lectura y escritura, fabricado de calidad, tamaño y diseño muy bueno, es pequeño, pero con un diseño y materiales que permiten manipularlo con facilidad a la hora de sacarlo o meterlo en el puerto USB tanto como de localizarlo, el tamaño tan pequeño de otros modelos de USB hacen difícil localizarlos o manipularlos. Muy importante la rapidez de lectura-escritura que hace menos desesperante la espera de otras memorias mucho más lentas a un precio igual o parecido. Muy recomendable.
