DAP out the window
So, I'm a big fan of doing things as naturally as possible and jumped at the chance to buy a yeast nutrient that comes from an organic source. I've used this several times previously to buying this and there is at least a very small difference in flavour in some (not all) of my side by side brew tests that I've used this in. When I use Fermaid O, there is an apparent lack of sulphite smell/flavour compared to using DAP or Fermaid K even in primary fermentation. That, and the fact that I know it's a natural product will be enough to keep me buying it (though I hope to find a decent UK source in future). This replaces DAP, Fermaid K etc. TIP: get this out of the packet and into a jar with a silica gel pack in it as Fermaid O has an insane affinity for moisture and becomes very sticky, very quickly!

Works as it should

Fermaid O is supremely helpful if you brew stuff that isn't nutrient rich for yeast; I brew meads without much else in the recipe so the rather hostile atmosphere can cause a more stressed out yeast. Fermaid O improves the quality of my brew, and the value of that for the money is enough that I won't go without it. Pros: -The standard for organic yeast nutrition -Preferred over inorganic yeast nutrition -I feel it improves the taste and smell of what I ferment Cons: -People get riled up over using it or not Happy yeast make happy ferments; I keep my yeast happy by using Fermaid O.

Since starting to use a couple grams in each fermentation has been more consistent and less worry about stalling. Every batch gets this now.

If you are big into mead especially with no added fruit this is a must hehe get it? Its cheaper than the small bags which is aparent but it is also good quality. Im saving up to but the $500 shipment from a website but until then this is my go to.
