great purchase
I needed additional memory to upgrade to Mountain Lion on my iMac 8,1. I knew that I could trust the reliable reviews on Amazon, I read enough positive reviews on the Patriot products to take a chance and I am glad that I did. I purchased the Patriot 4GB PC2-6400 DDR2 and added to the 1GB memory that I already had. Apple said it could only handle 4GB.But the reviews said otherwise and they were right. Initially when I first installed the memory I got a loud continuous beep and a blank screen. No need to panic, I googled the issue on my Ipad and located a forum that gave possible problems and solutions. Apparently I did not push the memory deep enough into the slot . Once I repeated the installation insuring that it was snuggled in its resting place all went, well and it worked like a charm. My computer moves so much quicker with the added memory. The jury is still out on Mountain Lion but I love my new memory. Thanks Amazon , I love the fact that I can review what actual customers purchase and make an educated decision for myself instead of relying on a salesperson that does not have my best interest. That is my main reason for summiting this review , to assist other customers .

Patriot Signature 4 GB PC2-6400 DDR2 Notebook Memory PSD24G8002S
Owing to the fact that the performance of my HP DV6-1245dx was below expectations due to the current workload, I was not sure which brand of DDR2 memory to buy. The 2 x 2GB in my laptop were made by Samsung and realizing that that brand was not available, I purchased this brand due to the written reviews as well as the price.Once installed, it was immediately recognized, there were no conflicting issues and I also noticed a vast improvement in performance. I will be replacing the other 2GB memory but I'll wait for a couple months to see if the current one comntinues to perform without issues. Until then I will give it four stars. The seller inculded a feedback request form which is good since these customer reports can help sellers improve their efficiencies.

Name Brand Memory for Excellent Compatibility and Price
My 4-year old HP DV7-1083CL had 4 Gb of RAM (2 Gb X 2) originally, but because I loaded this Windows 7 machine with many programs, I bump up to the memory limit often. I use TuneUp Utilities to optimize the operating system and to turn off some memory-resident processes and programs. I also use a free program called meminfo which can be setup to show the percentage of memory left in the lower right corner of the screen. Even with an optimized OS, I still have a memory usage of 75% or more, which slows down the computer considerably. The HP service manual stated that the 1083CL could only handle up to 4 Gb of RAM total, but this is not true. I also could not be sure if the two available memory slots could handle memories of different capacities.Taking a chance, I ordered a 4 Gb stick from Patriot. I took a 2 Gb RAM out of one slot and replaced it with the 4 Gb Patriot RAM. Now one slot has 2 Gb and the other has 4 Gb for a total of 6 Gb. So the answer is that the HP can handle up to 8 Gb and can accept different memory capacities in each slot.Having two extra gigabytes of memory to work with, my HP now feels a lot smoother and snappier. I can now have Chrome and Firefox browsers each having a dozen tabs open, iTunes and Zinio reader open, Skype, and reach a memory usage of only 60%. By the way, if you install meminfo, you can defragment the memory on the fly, instead of rebooting every so often to regain memory. Just right-click the memory usage indicator on the lower right and select Memory Defragmenter. The Patriot memory works, and it is definitely worth the $55 investment. You just need to find out the correct memory type and speed for your computer (DDR, DDR2, DDR3, etc.)

Great price and easy to install.
I purchased 2 of these. One here, and one at newegg.com Well one was bad and needed exchanged. Fortunately new egg does not whine about memory exchanges, the second one works great. Also getting a bit of hassle about the rebates. . . Just needed to resubmit paperwork they must have lost. The usual games they play. With 8GB in my laptop it really screams.Easy to install and the performance upgrade is well worth the price. If after reading my review of this product If you find it interesting or useful please rate it as "helpful" or leave a comment. I enjoy writing reviews on products that will potentially help someone make an informed decision based on my experience and I also greatly appreciate your feedback. So please, feel free to let me know if I helped.I make many purchases here on Amazon and base my purchases on reviews of the product from others as well. I know that honest and helpful reviews provide insight to the company, the product, and to the purchasing experience as well.If I feel the product is .... garbage, I will be honest and let you know what I think.I try to be as direct as possible, but sometimes there are only so many things you can say about a product. My reviews are not only for the sellers benefit but for other customers interested in purchasing this product as well.

Works with Lenovo T61P
I bought two modules of this and my Lenovo T61P is running fine and smooth using Windows 7 64bit.The only problem is that the product received differs from the picture. This is actually a CAS Latency 6 instead of 5.The only problem i have is that the Price is much higher than the faster and newer memory modules DDR3, so consider getting a new laptop vs upgrading. For me I think it was still cheaper upgrading my T61P with this memory plus a SSD drive.

Hot running memory
Since I upgraded my laptop to run 64-Bit Windows 7, I decided to upgrade the ram. Works fine and had no issues installing it but for some reason, it definitely has caused my laptop to get A LOT warmer on the bottom where the ram is. I was debating if I should remove it because of the heat but I'm going to just let it be for now.

Simple boost for an iMac
Our 2008 iMac was struggling with just the 2Gb it came with. Officially, it can handle up to 6Gb, in a 4+2 configuration. Unofficially, I believe it can handle 8 Gb via 4+4. I didn't want to blow it up, so I rather conservatively removed the existing RAM sticks and replaced them with one of these and a cheap 2Gb stick. The whole process took two minutes: turn the machine off, open a little flap on the underside at the front, pull out the existing RAM, insert the new ones, close the flap, re-start the machine. Hey presto, the iMac now has the maximum 6 Gb, and runs El Capitan easily.A twin core, 6 Gb iMac is a perfectly sound machine (unlike a 2Gb version). This memory upgrade has saved us from having to buy a new computer. It's been running quite happily for about three months now.So, the Patriot DDR2 is clearly doing its job nicely, with no fuss.

wORKS Great iN My lAPTOP
Works great in my system. I had a 4GB nine year old laptop system, and according to the manufacturer, the chipset maker (Intel) and most of the internet community, this system was not suppose to be upgrade above 4GB Ram. Well, I can safely say that now I have this new 4GB module plus one of the old 2GB modules installed and a grand total of 6GB. So don't listen to what your system makers say, just upgrade and see what happens.I AM GOING TO ORDER ANOTHER MODULE FROM THIS SELLER RIGHT NOW AND MAKE IT 8GB :)

Upgrade für Mac-Book white mid. 2009
