Great album

What a beautiful album this is with such drive, craft and creativity. It is beyond belief that four guys in their teens could write something as mature and imaginative as this. Paul Rodgers is at his soulful best here and Andy Fraser's bass playing is beginning to blossom . Paul Kossoff's use of tone and vibrato is sublime and Simon Kirke is there as always holding it all together. It's like a breath of fresh air...but the best is yet to come

I remember listening to this album for the first time on a borrowed friend's tape. It was one of those C90 cassettes, with Free on one side and their Live album on the other. I was mesmerized and played that tape endlessly until unfortunately my (cheap then) tape recorder decided to chew on the tape. Then I was heartbroken and broke (I had to buy back and replace my friend's tape, the honourable thing to do, but in back in the '80s communist Romania this was an expensive, almost impossible task).Needless to say, I bought the CDs in the mid '90s but their compressed "re-engineered" sound was pretty dismal especially on old recordings like these so my hunger for Free remained.This reissue LP neatly erases all those bad memories and restored the glorious sound I remember (or think I remember) from that old tape. In absolute terms, the dynamics and detail of this release are not perfect but overall better than average and do justice to the original material.Recommended for all the Free fans

estamos ante una de las bandas con mejor discografia de la historia del rock n roll, injusto cuando se habla de estos cuatro genios mencionar solo el magistral clasico all right now, cuando tienen temazos en todos sus discos , be my friend, fire and water , the hunter , mrbig , the stealer ,songs from yesterday, i love yo so , y esa maravilla llamada wising well, amen de otrasen este lp segundo del grupo inicialmente otra vez puesto a un precio ridiculo 45 euros? ya se confirma lo que se apuntaba en su primer disco que estamos ante una banda excelente de blues rock , a saber excelente guitarrista , una base ritmica irresistible , kirke-fraser y esa voz la mejor de la historia del rock? posiblemente , que llego a los idiotas de queen a recutarle para que cantara con ellos , aunque fue un craso error , no tiene la mas minima importancia freddie y el grandes cantantes pero muy distintosen definitiva gran disco de una de las mas grandes bandas que dio el rock y que injustamente fueron olvidados y que no alcanzaron el exito que merecian , por otra parte gran noticia lo de la caja con todos sus discos , pero sigue sin convencerme lo de los precios , porque este es tan caro en comparacion con lo de la caja entera en la que no sale cada uno ni a 18 euros , aunque dicho de paso este tambien espere que lo bajaran.

Se non erro il secondo album dei Free, suoni veramente eccezzionali, se si pensa al periodo e all'età dei membri del gruppo. Consigliato
