Average playtime quality
Picked this up because I have fond memories of whacking croquet balls around with my dad after he brought home a secondhand set. Never cared to learn the rules, but this one comes with instructions (a bit superfluous in the internet age, but nice to have, anyway).I haven't used the set yet so I'll update once that happens but I have some comments after unpacking it and assembling the mallets:1. Mallet handles seemed very lightweight but once assembled I did some practice putts with a ball and I'm very happy with the weight distribution as the much heavier mallet head allows a solid swing. Plastic bumpers on each side of mallet head, I'll have to watch these as I could see them popping off or cracking if exposed to temperature fluctuations or weather, so don't store them outside and hopefully epoxy can fix anything that might happen.2. Tighten the mallets well. I hope this is where the breakage complaints are coming from. I hand tightened and they felt solid but I wanted to be sure so I got my jar gripper pad and wow was I able to tighten them down a LOT more (it's just hard to get a good enough grip on the skinny handle without some help). I was afraid I might be over tightening but I did reach a clear stopping point. Make sure you do this.3. The wickets are *very* lightweight metal with plastic coating. I feel like I'll have to be careful not to bend them out of shape; we'll see. Stakes seem fine.4. The balls are plastic coated something...? I wish they were plain wood, because there is an obvious seam on them, but this isn't a pro set and I can't think it will really affect the play seeing as it's in natural terrain anyway.5. The bag does not, in fact, hold the mallets once assembled. I tried everything I could think of but could zip it up with no more than 4 inside. Before you think (as I did, after reading this in other reviews) that maybe you can just zip it up with handles sticking out: the problem is not the length of the bag but the thickness of it. It just cannot hold the mallets with the heads on. This is the worst thing about the set and I can only describe it as an egregious oversight by the manufacturer. The bag itself is pretty lightweight but not overly cheap, nice that it has a two way zipper but really stupid that you can't actually put the whole set in there.Lastly, I picked this up on a price drop, I wouldn't pay more than 30 for it, mostly due to the issue with the case. I'm looking forward to free-form croquet with my kids, or possibly mildly intoxicated party guests -- same difference ;-)

Jury is out!
The delivery was great but the quality was a little disappointing. Balls were very light

Would not recommend. Debating
Very cheap. I wasn't expecting them to hold up against a $200 set, but I don't see them lasting at all. Handles are cheap, balls are, really, cheap, mis-formed, and oblong. Very difficult to put in the case. Made my own hard corners to help a bit. Would not recommend. Debating returning

Besides the Budweiser bag...
Was looking for the best quality set I could find for the cheapest price for a first annual croquet tournament with adults, and I was very happy with this purchase. Completed a 3 hour match with alcohol-infused players, and all parts came out of it in great shape. I foresee this set lasting a long time.

This is a nice little set for the occasional family summer get together.

Worth every penny--my three granddaughters just love playing with it
Worth every penny--my three granddaughters just love playing with it. The only thing I don't like is the bag. Unless you take the mallets apart every time, the set doesn't fit in the tiny bag.

Good value
Good set - good value. The plastic caps on mallets tend to wear out / crack after a couple of games. The balls are showing indentations. BUT the stakes, the hardwood of mallets are good. The bag is only useful if you want to unscrew the mallet heads off the handle.
