Great, no-frills thermostat.
Simple thermostat that does what it is supposed to do. First, this is a 4-wire thermostat - that means it doesn't draw power from your furnace and relies on batteries. Second, it has a lot of flexibility in how you program it - you can have a unique program for every day of the week, you can also have a unique program for M-F and then something different for S-S. It can be set to switch automatically between heating and cooling (where I live that is such a narrow margin we don't bother with that feature). The main display shows humidity, which is nice. Speaking of, the main display only lights up when you touch it. In terms of installation - total breeze. It's literally 4 wires and the instructions are super clear. It has a mounting plate with terminals for the wires making it even easier to install (and remove when you need to replace batteries). It has lots of set-up options to match different heating/cooling configurations - the defaults work for a standard gas furnace and single-stage AC. But if you have electric heat, heat pump, multi-stage, etc. it can easily be configured for that. In terms of accuracy - I find it to be within half a degree of my instant read thermometers - so no problems there at all. Overall, a great well-priced thermostat.

Good flexibility, good instructions. Easy to install and program.
I purchased this a few months back as a replacement for an older programmable thermostat that had corroded battery terminals, but I just installed it in the last few days. The installation instructions were very clear and the installation went quite smoothly overall. The trickiest part was I needed a COM wire to run this new thermostat without batteries (although batteries are still needed for backup), but I was fortunate that the existing thermostat had some extra unused wires. I just needed to make the COM connection at the HVAC end to have a COM connection for the new thermostat, so it wasn't too difficult. This is a more modern design than the unit that it replaced, so I'm not surprised to find that it has more features to make it more flexible. The touch screen provides access to a good range of menu options, but it didn't seem hard to program, either. I'm very interested in the Automatic Changeover capability which can switch between heating and cooling modes automatically if needed to maintain program temperatures. I think that may be useful in cases when the weather is changing and the need for heating or cooling is not as clear so it's easy to miss changing modes manually. I haven't seen that feature work yet, though. I'm using it in a home workshop area, so appearance is not super important, but it does have a simple and clean appearance, and I consider it a bonus that it displays the relative humidity in addition to the temperature. There is no WiFi connectivity and I chose this model for that reason. If it continues to meet expectations, I plan to replace my other older thermostats with this model.

Easy to install, dependable, and works well
Replaced a $30 Honeywell that used AAA batteries and was always having issues when they died. One morning woke up to find it dead and AC was running nonstop at 62 degrees and falling. This looked like a good choice for replacement and so far, has been. Uses 3 x AA batteries (unless you have a newer system with a 'C' wire, then needs no batteries). Easy to wire, setup and program. Easy to read when backlit. My only gripe is I do not like the clip-in wire connections, would much rather have screw terminals. I had an issue where my R wire was always popping out.

Best switch from a popular thermostat I’ve made
We got this to replace our nest thermostat that decided to go in the fritz a few months ago when it stopped calibrating to correct temperature inside the house. This thermostat has been so simple and eases my mind so much that it ACTUALLY shows the correct temperature inside. Display size is big enough for most to read, you can change the colors of the background to see it better if need be. The current wires we have were compatible to switch to this thermostat from a 3rd gen nest thermostat. I bought this on Black Friday so I got an amazing deal on it after doing days of research. It’s capable of making a schedule which is handy. It doesn’t connect to WiFi so you can’t change the temps from your phone which I miss. All around I like this thermostat compared to the nest, best investment I made

This is an extremely versatile thermostat. Super easy to install. An impressive number of programming features, and the touch screen makes it super easy to program. Very impressed! You can partially or fully lock out the screen. Runs on 3 AA batteries. Has a backlit screen that comes on with a touch of the screen and will go off on a time delay with battery only power. If you have a C wire or want to run a small 24 volt power supply (to power the C wire input), it will stay lit all the time at selectable light intensities. It also gives you room humidity, which is nice as perceived temperature is related to humidity. Although this thermostat has wire inputs for almost every imaginable input, it can also be wired with as few as two wires for an old school furnace like I have. Simply hook your red (or black) wire to the R input and your white wire to the W input. Works perfect. And although I have a simple furnace, this thermostat can still be programmed to anticipate the heat changes and cut in early - if you like. You can program the maximum cycles per hour. Lots of cool features. I appreciated the size, square shape, pleasant white backlight, and ease of installation. It does NOT have a color screen, or Wi-Fi capabilities, but I was looking for a "simple" one without Wi-Fi. It also does not do high voltage switching (120 Volt line voltage). Honeywell has other models, with those features - if desired - see their website. The only feature lacking which I did want is cumulative run time tracking (for the furnace or AC). I had that on one of my previous Honeywell thermostats and really liked this feature. It seems like the only thermostats which offer this any more only offer it if have a Wi-Fi thermostat and log into a website to get the info. Honeywell - please bring this feature back an option on regular thermostats! I have installed programmable thermostats in several houses, and have always liked and preferred the Honeywell brand. Consumers reports also liked this thermostat (Model RTH8560D) for functionality and ease of programming. I could not agree more. Highly recommended!!!

Replace my old one with this brand. I admit it works great and does not consume a lot with the 3 batteries. Easy to install and a very easy straight forward instructions to start and set up.

I bought this Honeywell thermostat off Amazon a year after I bought a different Honeywell thermostat from a popular building centre. The one I bought a year ago just suddenly stopped reading the internal temperature. It was a cheaper, non-programmable device. I'm hoping this new one will be better and I'll get more than a years service out of it. So far so good. Very easy to install. All I had to do was snap it on, the plate with the wiring was identical to the one I bought from the building centre. To program it was easy and the screen is much smaller than I thought it was going to be. I'm happy with it, fingers crossed.
