Nice case over all, but speaker holes point away from user sadly.
Nice sturdy feel, the stands work well.Only complaints i have are that it tilts away from you when laid flat and the holes for the speakers are on the back of the case instead of the bottom or front. (there is a gap below where the tablet's speakers sit so sound isn't muffled any, just directed away from the user) Would have been much better if they routed the sound toward the userThere is also a small split at the top of one of the "legs" at the hole for the connecting rod that holds it to the case... I can see it ripping if the kids happen to pull down on it too much. So far it hasn't split any more, I'll usually check it each time I need to charge the tablet. For the price compared to the other "child proof" cases, I can over look the rear facing speaker holes.Update 11/30/2019:Still in good shape with no issues. Support legs still function the same as they did when new.

Great for those who lack fine motor!
I bought this case for two reasons. One because it is cute as a button and has cat ears which in my opinion is awesome. The other is that due to multiple health conditions, I have a lack of fine motor skills. Holding and grasping items becomes harder and harder each day. I love the thickness of this case for this reason. It also has a bit of a texture to it which helps me grip it better too. The built in handle helps me feel more confident when carrying my tablet to other rooms of the house. The only negative I can see is that I am not sure of the longevity of the case compared to others I have had in the past. The foam feels like it could easily break. Also there was a strong foam smell when I first took it from the bag.

EZ EZ ...Easy to hold, easy to make the charger stay in… They rock!
I have bought two of these and honestly both are for myself. Like another reviewer above him I have some problems with with fine motor skills but mostly the only thing about my Kindle that drives me nuts is the fact that when you charge at the charger won't stay seated and plugged in. Particularly if you should have to move it for some reason! I simply take the charger thread it through one of the "ears" and wrap it around and then plug it in and it stays… Perfectly!. I can prop this up when I'm laying down so I can read it I can look at it either landscape or portrait. These cases are just plain easy. And I don't be misled when you first get it there's a Black stiffener inside that must be removed! That's not quite intuitive and at first you feel like you're destroying some thing but the case won't fit on otherwise. Probably if I was five it would be easy! :-)… I've had kindles for years and I've had a ton of covers and these covers are the easiest to hold of anything I've ever had

Fits a Fire HD 8 (2016) Perfectly!!
We have a Fire HD 8 (2016) that my 5 year old uses and this case fits his tablet perfectly!! It is very durable and has already protected the tablet from a couple of drops and bumps. The fold out stands on the back hold the tablet at a couple different angles really nicely and doesn't tip over easily which is a huge plus. All the buttons are easy enough to reach but also protected by the thicker case to prevent being accidentally pushed.I chose this model because we needed something kid friendly and because of the dedicated sound channels for the speakers that routes sound out of small holes in the back. A couple other cases that look like this didn't seem to have this feature but his one does. The only con that I could see about this case is that I would have preferred the sound to be ported to the front of the case instead of out the back. This is so it wouldn't have to be up so loud to hear it while sitting directly in front of it but honestly, it's better than no holes for sound at all.Over all this is a great, kid friendly case that even some adults might love to use and it fits the 2016 Fire HD 8 perfectly. Highly recommended!!

So cute.
Perfect. I finally decided to go ahead and buy my daughters both a fire HD 8. So of course i had to buy new cases because the cases that come on the tablet do not have a handle or stand. I ordered two, One pink one blue. Not sure why someone else said it doesn’t fit, but it does. It seems sturdy and well constructed. I’ll update my review in about a month.

Muted the Sound
Protects the Kindle great, however, the design of the case blocks most of the sound coming out of the speakers. Since we primarily use the device for our LO to watch videos, the muted sound is a drawback.

1 yr after purchase still in perfect condition
I bought this for my son over a year ago, he was 3 and now 4. It is still in amazing shape! He calls it his "Catboy Tablet" lol. The tabs that open/close on the back to stand the tablet up still work great, no defects or damage at all and he is ROUGH on his things! I am VERY pleased with this case... It has kept his tablet safe and secure despite being dropped, tossed, just about anything you could think of. Felt it was important to come back and write this so others looking to purchase could feel confident that it will last and be worthwhile!
