I use this to keep all my sewing equipment and is great for keeping it all organised. It is made of good sturdy plastic (can withstand my one year old son using it as a stepping stool) and has good stiff clip locks (not so stiff that is hard to take off the trays but stiff enough to ensure they don't fall off). I've had one for five years to store my start up sewing kit but have now bought a second one to accommodate my growing sewing supplies. I like that I've been able to combine them to get a bigger setting box. The box is 9"x6" (23x15 cm) and come with two 1 litre trays and a 2 litre tray. The 1 litre trays are 1" deep, the 2 litre trays are 2" deep and the lid is 1" deep. The 2 litre tray is deep enough to hold my wrist pin cushion and long enough to hold my fabric shears. I've used the lids to turn a 1 litre tray into a 2 litre tray to accommodate my larger reels of thread and a 2 litre tray into a 3 litre tray to hold the fabric of whatever project I'm working on. It is also big enough to accommodate my 6" embroidery hoop (using a lid on a 2 litre tray I'm certain it would also hold a 7" embroidery hoop). I also like that you can purchase additional trays on their own. The description describes the colour of the lid as dark violet but I would describe it as navy blue if that matters particularly to anyone interested in this box. Well definitely be purchasing more of these if I need them.

I thought I had finally found the perfect solution for my sewing notions eternal mess, but I bought two of these and both arrived with the lid broken. I also bought the one with the spools insert and that also had one of the handles broken. They appear rather flimsy to me and I am now concerned that the replacements I ordered will not last long. I still remember my granny’s Tupperware sturdy sewing box and I wish I could have one like that to last forever. Today has not been a happy mail dsy, specially as I was hoping to take them on holiday with me.

I bought 2 of these storage boxes to keep my artists pastels in. I was initially very pleased, but having used them a few times one of the smaller trays will not stay locked onto the lid. This means instead of being able to feel confident when picking the box up, I am wary of it all crashing to the floor - which would pretty much destroy my pastels which are expensive to replace. Not sure if problem lies with the lid or the tray itself.Such a shame as the concept is good.

It loses a star because top holder clip is stiff and doesn't open properly. I open one side and lever it open.Otherwise excellent as always. Good quality plastic. More expensive than cheapo storage but good for carrying to sewing classes. 3 layers so can group contents as you want.It's a storage case. Top is blue. It's made from plastic. It's Prym....if you know Prym you know it's more expensive but worth it.
