Molded pieces have a small seam
Not as loud as some of the other emergency whistles I've used. Also, because these were formed in a mold, there are small ridges on each side which kind of dig into your lips as you use this (though if you're in a situation where this is required, I bet that's the least of your concerns).

Got it as a Christmas stocking stuffer for my wife and daughter. Both were appreciative but neither has tried to blow the whistle yet due to their concern on how loud it will be.

Excellent Choice
These whistles are tremendously loud, and allow me to let my children play farther than I would without them, we developed a simple system to communicate with each other when at the park, biking or hiking. I can call them as well as they can call me.It allows them to feel safer from anybody bothering them.If you blow this whistle with all of your strength, there is no way a human can withstand the level of noise wirhout covering their ears and thinking it twice.

Can you say loud! It takes some breath to get full volume (those with very weak lungs go with something else). Also, it is all rounded with no sharp edges so it sits in your pocket well. This is really a screamer.

These are a very good product. My daughters did break apart after 3 months but a little glue and it was good as new. Am buying a new one just in case.

JetScream = Accurate
These things are unbelievably loud. "Jet scream" is a pretty accurate description, it does sound like a turbine engine running at about 95%. To get the most db out of it, you have to give it a healthy blow (obviously). But, in a survival/emergency situation, you won't be blowing as hard as you would if you were trying to yell for help, and you'll be able to keep it up for a great deal longer.
