Great "Easy" Non-Fiction Reader
I purchased this book for my son who has difficulty reading. It's a good balance between an easy reading level and a good amount of pertinent information. There are 9 pages of text that average 3-4 clear, concise sentences, and 20-25 words. There are 9 pages of good, full-page, full-color photographs. The text and photo pages alternate, with the photos correlating to the text on the facing page. This book includes information on Geography, Climate, Native animals, Language, Population, Food, Celebrations, Occupations, Transportation and a Famous Sight . It has a Table of Contents, Country Facts Recap, Glossary, Extended Reading Recommendations, Web Site reference, and Index. This entire series of books by Pebble is excellent for young readers, or struggling readers who want to learn about real places. The other books in the series are Afghanistan, Canada, China, Japan, and the United States of America.
