If you are a nixie tube fans, you must know the nixie tube clock kit. But the glow tube has been out of production for a long time, since the demise of the soviet union which lead to the nixie style clock has the low production but high price. While eleksmaker just creatively release the elekstube digital clock which brought an entirely new design of the RGB retro full color simulation glow tube electronic clock. It installs 6pcs RGB glow PCB on the bottom and 10pcs number shape engraved display panes on the RGB. When power on the clock, the mainboard will control the bottom RGB turn on/off to light up the corresponding display pane to show the number which makes it looks like the nixe tube clock. Due to the programmble and RGB light source design, you can use the computer software to change the display color and display mode as your will with lots of fun. 5V micro USB powered with bamboo base and shell makes it beautiful to decorate your desktop. Beautiful and unique clock
My night stand 7-bar LED clock broke and I wanted something cool to replace it. Nixie clocks fascinated me, but the three to five year lifespan of the Nixie tubes was hard to stomach for the price. It took me a while to bite the bullet on NovelLife's LED clock. The pictures looked great, but the idea that I'd need to assemble it threw me a bit. Eventually, my girlfriend talked me into it.It took a few hours to assemble -- the hardest part being removing the protective plastic from the individual numbered plates for each digit. There are two YouTube videos demonstrating assembly and both were very helpful. The end product looks great and shows that the engineers at NovelLife take pride in their work.I had some problem running the software necessary to set the clock (you need to plug the clock into a USB slot on your computer -- in my case a PC). Eventually, I tried right-clicking on the Application file and choosing "Run as Administrator". That did the trick.I've had the clock assembled and running for a week now and it keeps pretty accurate time (it matches my cell phone). The ability to choose colors is great -- you can even choose the burnt orange color of a Nixie clock if you wish.As I write this, the clock is currently not available -- so I'm glad I got it when I did. I'm hoping that NovelLife continues to manufacture this unique product.

Nice product
Wished it would toggle between time and date but still a nice product. It was fun to build. Hand written instructions would have been helpful. After 5 days numbers froze twice. Reset by cycling the power. Did not have to set time again, it was still accurate.

Love the look of this clock
Definitely a conversation piece. NovelLife was very responsive to my email questions. Instructions could be a bit clearer but once assembled it works/looks great. Awaiting full functionality for Mac software.

Where are the instructions
I’ve had this thing in a box for over a year. I can’t find instructions.i guess this isn’t for amateurs. Also no software.

Fun clock, but could use software improvements
I ordered this in January 2019. It seems the older versions of this clock people have reported having horrible accuracy. The control board on mine had "2019" printed on it so this must have been just recently released. Assembly was pretty easy, you have to take your time. Each acrylic number you have to peel off a protective layer of plastic but this is there to protect the pieces from scratching. You want to handle them from the sides, finger prints and dust particles will show up easily when the clock is running. I put mine inside a display case designed to hold a football, makes it look nice and keeps the dust out. This new main board contains the DS3231 real time clock chip. This chip is probably the most accurate time keeping chip right next to radio controlled almost. In about a month of testing mine, it only drifted a few seconds. I believe all the new models of this clock do have this new chip, make sure it does before ordering one.You have to connect the clock to your computer and run the software in order to synchronize your computer's clock to the Elekstube clock. Also, there is limited functionality for the display. You have a few color changing modes, but that's about it. No option for showing the date. It does have a stopwatch function but in order to use that, you must have it connected to your computer and use the software. The clock itself has 3 buttons mounted on the right side. The button closest to the back adjusts brightness. There are five levels of brightness with each press and the next press blanks the display, but the clock continues to keep time. The middle button changes between 3 different color display modes, a test mode (number change 0-9 continuously) and then solid color. For more color combinations, you can connect to the software and change each digit to a different color if you want. The button closest to the front works only when the color changing mode shows all the digits changing colors together. Pressing the front button (left button) locks the display to that color.Would like to see different software upgrades to show the date and other functionality to access with just the buttons and not having to always connect to the computer to set certain parameters. It's a cool clock, had mine for 7 months now but hopefully there's software upgrades in the future. Note: this does not have an alarm.

He loved it
It was a royal pain to put together, but he found the instructions online and it went great after that. It's been working fine and he gets compliments on it when someone new comes to the room it's in.

Sweet looking time piece!
Very nice looking clock and fairly easy to put together watching the YouTube video. Only thing I hate about it is you have to plug it in to the computer every time you want to change the color or anything else.
