Very useful, very thorough, very scholarly, very practical.
I bought this textbook because I needed to get up to speed on some neglected areas of vocational rehabilitation in order to better serve adults on the high end of the autism spectrum. I supposed it would be good, it was much better than I had hoped. It is not just practical and useful, it is thorough and scholarly. The citations are very good, good enough that if I want to know more then I can use them to review the literature and find more about some troubling detail specific to my needs. The fact that it follows CORE accreditation standards makes it, in my opinion, more practical than otherwise. I have not used this textbook to teach a class--I am a working professional, not an educator. So as a seasoned vocational professional assisting those with disabilities to secure gainful employment I recommend this work highly and commend its author Professor Strauser for keeping it real, practical and scholarly. As an autism expert, I recommend it to those who need to know more about the vocational expertise of the vocational experts who specialize in serving those with disabilities --namely vocational rehabilitation counselors.

course requirement
I purchased this text as a requirement for one of my master's level classes and have found it to be well organized and jam-packed with the kind of information I need to have at my fingertips as a vocational rehabilitation counselor. Although the information is very dense, it's well arranged and I've found it to be one of the better texts I've purchased.

Cheaper on Amazon, then from my school. Still has everything that I needed.

DONT BUY THIS! STOP MAKING YOUR STUDENTS PURCHASE THIS WORTHLESS BOOK!
This is one of the worst books I have ever purchased. Every chapter is written in the most bland and overly complicated way possible. The writer talks very vaguely and never clearly speaks his mind. You are left rereading each sentence over and over again until you are at the point where you slightly begin to understand. But even then, the obnoxious author talks in riddles.
