Flush Mount to Angled Ceiling with Recessed Electrical Junk Works Well
I used this light to replace a 20-year old square fluorescent light fixture. First point: your ceiling must be smooth and absolutely flat in order to flush mount. The mounting plate is thin and mounts hard and fast against the ceiling, so every unevenness in your ceiling will translate into a bent mounting plate. If the mounting plate is not flat, then you will not be able to mount the light onto the mounting clips. Also, there are many wires that you must stuff into your ceiling. It works easier if you can put someone in the attic above the fixture, pulling up on the cable set while you mount the light from a ladder below. As someone else states, no excess wires will fit between the fixture and the ceiling surface --- there is no space at all. Why? Because it is a flush mount! The light itself projects out about 1" from the ceiling surface. The illumination itself is awesome. The light quality and essence is similar to the fluorescent light. However, measured in foot-candles, it is twice as bright as my old fluorescent light fixture. I highly recommend this light. I would definitely buy again.

Intermediate difficulty for flush mount.
No directions but mostly straightforward. Keep in mind that flush mount bracket can warp if overly tightened, resulting in alignment issues. Have a longer pocket knife and needle nose pliers to adjust the hooks, be careful as the metal tabs can break off if manipulated too much. Just use minor adjustments and hook away side to support while fitting/aligning brackets nearest to you.

Dont waste money as recess mount.
I installed a 1x4 surface mount over sink and (2) 2x4 recess mt. over kitchen island. Overall I'm happy but the light from the diffuser on the 1x4 has a more even and brighter appearance. Seems reasonable since the 1x4 is 40W and the 2x4 is 50W with twice the area. Also I didnt realize the 2x4 lights are double the price of the recess only fixtures that have a power supply that sticks out the rear.

Good quality product
Good quality product. The reason for the 3 stars is as follows:1. In order to use the dimming function you will need 5 wires to the fixture ( Load, Neutral, Ground, Dim+ and Dim-. most homes are not wired with 5 wires but only 3. therefore, i couldn't use dimming.2. Flush mount method extremely difficult. I had to modify the installation.3. No instruction manual was included in either box.4. Customer service very difficult to reach. the company does not have a telephone number and the response via email was challenging.

So Far So Good
The fixture is just the right size and shape, and has a well made solid and attractive look to it. I won't be able to install it for a few days as the old current fixture will take some effort to remove. The instructions look better and more complete than a larger fixture that I bought, and finally installed (same problem), from Home Depot. All of the components appear to be in a box nicely placed within the styrofoam packing. Thank you for your interest.

Insutalation
After installation the light is beautiful. To install light is a bit of a problem if you are using it as a flush mount.

Great price - super white and bright.
I would have given it a perfect rating but I found the slot connections were a little small so it’s a little tricky getting them to fit percetly. Great product though

Nice fixture
Looks great and surface mount worked well to replace fluorescent fixture throwing mire light and looking much better. Only problem is difficulty engaging surface mount clips-takes some patience
