LED Coaster, Black with Color Changing LED Lights

Reading the other reviews, there seems to be a couple versions of this LED coaster. The one I received was listed on the box as being item - LIT809EA. It is a 3-5/8" disc that is about 15/16" tall (counting the feet). The clear part of the top is 2-3/4" diameter. The outer shell is a solid black plastic - the top part is shiny smooth plastic, while the bottom part of the base has a texture to it. There are three rubber feet on the bottom of the base. The light is powered by three triple-A batteries. Each battery has it own compartment. It looks like they do that because of how deep into the base that the reflector extends into the unit. On the unit I got, there is a small button on the side of the base that controls the lights. There are three individual LEDs - red, blue, and green. Pressing the button cycles the function of the lights. It's sort of annoying. You press the button an the red light comes on, pressing it again turns off the light. Pressing it again turns on the green light, press again turns off the light. And so on. There are many modes, with different combos (red & green/blue &red...). There is also one which randomly turns on and off the different LEDs. Sounds more complicated that it really is. Just keep pushing the button till what you want comes up.I like this gizmo. I plan on using it under a small fish bowl full of marbles to act as a night light. Haven't used it enough to comment on how long the batteries tend to last. So far I'm happy with my purchase - might even purchase more.

I'm a DJ and I needed a cool coaster for my beer or my tip jar. I used this at my last show for both and loved it. It would have been good to know the entire operation of this item, but everything is easy to figure out. It requires 3 AAA batteries (not included) and can be set up to stay on one of the many colors or transfer between all of them. I prefer the transferring method.I only give it a 4 star rating because the 3 spots for the batteries' covers keep falling off and it doesn't seem very waterproof for the "sweat" that comes off cold drinks. I put it in a ziploc bag when I used it as an actual coaster.

There's no way to change light mode or color. Apparently some people are lucky enough to get an entirely different model item, as I know some reveiwers are happy... they got one with a switch, or button, or know a secret phrase of sweet nothings to whisper to get this thing to change it's mood. .... I got one that can't be swayed. It just cycles through the colors and different lights modes, it's like a "demo" mode, but, it's the only mode. No switch or any way to control ...anything. I even took it apart..... thinking maybe it's just so unintelligently constructed that there may have been a dipswitch inside... but no, nothing inside either.It's cool that it automatically turns on ("demo mode") when you place a drink on it, and turns off when you remove the weight.... so two stars for the pressure switch working at least.

I bought this device under the impression that I would be able to choose which color was displayed instead of cycling through all of them. The reviews and questions on this product page imply that it is possible to do so with a "button on the side" of the device. There is no button on the side of the device. There is a pressure sensitive switch on the bottom of the device which activates the LEDS which then cycle through the colors RED, GREEN, BLUE, WHITE, AQUA, YELLOW, and PURPLE. There is no option to toggle the cycle off. THE LEDs themselves are very bright and vivid. This is the only reason I give the product two stars instead of the one it deserves for the false advertising.

The media could not be loaded.  Used this to make a present for my niece, it turned out great and she loved it! I attached this to the bottom of a container with glycerin, water, and sparkles then decoratedthe outside. I liked that with the coaster it could be turned on and off and the batteries could be replaced.

I bought 5 the first 1 was broken in the package the other 4 the tabs for the batteries all broken wasn't worth it was so excited to get them then very disappointed upon them breaking would have to love to tell other's how great there were but can't

I have several glass cubes and spheres with laser etchings inside which I place on top of this color changing LED coaster.It is exactly as advertised. Too bad it costs as much to ship as the actual device itself costs.Locks on any color or automatically shifts slowly through all the colors. (my favorite)I plan to order a few more.

They were nice but just after a few uses some of the leds stopped working. Would buy again for short term use.
