Peanut Butter Friends in a Chop Suey World

Tremendous YA book. This is a great book to help children and young people to know what it is like for Missionary Kids to adjust to the changes and culture as they move to the mission field for the first time. It is also helpful for Adults to read as well.

I read it with my family. We found the characters living in cross-cultural situations relatable. There were many funny situations and we enjoyed learning some Chinese along the way! I recommend this book to all children and even adults living abroad and dealing with transitions.

For a YA level Christian fiction chapter book, this was very interesting. Recommended by my daughter after she read it as an assignment, I loved sitting down with her this afternoon and sharing our thoughts about the characters , the differences in culture between America and Taiwan, etc. This was significant because this is my only child of 4 who is not an avid reader...yet! ;) Recommended former readers in a 5th-6th grade level. Read aloud levels may be younger.

This is a great book that is used as part of the BJU homeschool curriculum for Grade 3. My daughter and I both enjoyed reading it. It is about a girl who moves to Taiwan as a missionary and has to decide how best to serve God, both among her English speaking friends at school, and also her new Chinese neighbors and friends.

My daughter had this book and loved it so much! Then she let her friend borrow it and her friend loved it too! Great book. Highly recommended YA readers.

My daughter loved this book - she finished in the day it arrived!. Fun to read and has a great message. Arrived quickly and in perfect condition.

Not as interesting as we thought it would be.

Good book to learn how it is in Taiwan and how missionaries have to adopt new life styles, food, language and meeting new people.
