Very Happy with these ice cube trays
My husband is addicted to ice. When our ice maker went out in our freezer, we opted to use trays instead of spending the money to get the ice maker fixed. Cheap plastic ones did not last long with our frequent use; they soon cracked and became unusable. Enter this great product. They are sturdy and easy to use. The lids are a nice bonus for stacking. If you or someone you love is addicted to ice, give these trays a try. You won't be disappointed. They're worth the extra pennies.

Great idea in ice trays!
I bought these trays as part of a housewarming basket for my son's new apartment. I haven't used ice trays in quite a while, but these are a vast improvement over the ones I remember! The lids are a great idea for keeping the ice from absorbing other food flavors in the freezer and to stack without spilling or sticking together. Cannot rate the features, but the trays themselves seem sturdy, well designed and very user friendly.

Mine hasn’t broken because I use it as instructed
I’ve been using this for a couple of months for my baby’s food. I steam all kinds of squash, sweet potato, pears, etc. and freeze it. The size is good even when baby eats more because you can pop out multiple fruits/veggies for appetizing combinations for baby’s palate. As for it breaking...this is made of plastic with silicone bottoms. Don’t twist it, it’s frozen plastic! Run the faucet warm then cupping your hand under the water stream put the tray so it sits in a bit of water and wait about 30 seconds. Then gently apply pressure to the siclione. I hold it with two hands and push with a finger from each hand. Treat it properly and it will last just fine

VEry pleased with these
I used them for the first time tonight. After reading the reviews, I was careful not to overfill. So I used a liquid tablespoon measurer, each holds a little more than a tablespoon. I then put the lid on top & froze. When I removed, as recommended, I waited a couple minutes before just pushing on the green silicone bottom. They came out easily. I did not try twisting the white encasing, as we did in the old days with the plastic ones. Not necessary here. Just bush on the silicone. I like this because I only want to remove usually a couple at a time. If you twist the container, you would remove more, plus would break the plastic probably. I really like the clear plastic top for it, which came off easily after cubes were frozen. Durability is hard to assess so quickly but so far it looks great, as long as treated kindly!

Lids do NOT stay on, but there is another choice!
These trays look as I expected, but the lids do not seal in the water at all. In fact only 2 if the 4 I got even snap on well enough to stay on.I might have considered giving a 3 for the trays themselves, but I have not yet made cubes in them so I am not sure about how well they work in that way. But, with the following false comment pointedly included in the description a rating of 2 seems appropriate. “The sealed lid perfectly fit the tray and it efficiently prevents spills...”UPDATE: After posting this review I was happily surprised to have OptimMore Customer Service reach out to understand more about the problems I had and give me a chance to try another version of this product that they offer which have better lids. (http://a.co/5MRXR41) After trying this product I will say that they were a lot better. Although the lids are still not water tight, they snapped on well and prevent the water from spilling out quite well.

A pain to use & tiny cubes!
Instructions that come with the trays."1.Do not add water too full in case the ice cubes stick together. 2.Place the ice cube trays smoothly in refrigerator, to avoid overflowing. 3.Wait 2 or 3 minutestime for a songto let ice melt a bit, the ice will be easier to remove.4.Before popping the ice out, pat the bottom of the ice cube trays. 5.Run a little warm water on the bottom and then push each cube from the bottom."I just wanted silicon trays that the ice popped out of easily.AND the cubes are tiny!

Be careful twisting them
The silicone bottoms don't make it any easuer to dislodge the ice. The plastic is so thin and rigid that it shattered from trying to dislodge the ice by twisting the tray. The lids that come with them are not waterproof at all, so dont think you can store these on a slant. I'd recommend getting the old-school thick plastic ones that don't shatter if you don't mind storing them flat. If you want to store them on a slant, the OXO ones that seal work. We're going back to the old school heavy duty ones.Edit: The seller contacted me and replaced BOTH of our trays even though only one broke, and they replaced them with all-silicone trays that suited our needs.

Love the consept but removing ice can be a little tricky
I love that there is a cover for these ice cube trays, it's one of the main reasons I purchased this item. The other reason was I thought the silicone bottom would help pop the ice cubes out with ease. Unlike a typical ice cube tray where you twist the tray and the ice pops out, you have to push the ice cube out from the bottom. Twisting these trays won't work. Put your hand under the silicone part to warm up the ice cube and it will pop out from the mold.

Lid is a Game Changer
I have not had the product long so I cannot expand beyond the reasons that I purchased the product and thus far it has met my expectations. First and foremost I wanted ice trays for those times when the machine can't keep up with demand. (I am also starting to look more at the interior parts of the ice machine and the impossibilities of getting them clean. Yuck!) I was well aware of the smell/taste of cubes over period of time so I wanted to try lid. Thus far works like a charm and so easy to stack.

One star
Already reviewed this. But after using once I realized 2 stars was too much. 1 star is more appropiate. Cubes are much smaller than average ice cubes. Trays are hard to fill. The tray covers cause the cubes to freeze much slower than normal. Plus there is a warning label which warns you against filling full of water. I am currently preparing this product for a speedy return. The price for this product is outrageous when I consider the quality and usefulness.

These ice trays are only okay.
I purchased these as a replacement for basic plastic ice trays that are very old and have become difficult to use over the years. These ice trays work well only if you allow the trays to sit on the counter for several minutes before trying to remove the ice. However, if you are trying to remove ice quickly (without allowing time for the trays to sit out - which is how I typically roll), it is very hard to get the ice out and the ice often cracks into pieces. I do like that I can push the ice out from the bottom with the silicone part, but if you do this before allowing the trays to sit out, it will hurt your hand / fingers because it is too hard. All in all, I don't love these trays and it has not solved my problem, but the trays are not awful and do make nice sized cubes.

Perfect for baby food
These trays are awesome for freezing puréed baby food. I simply filled to the rim with food, covered with the lids, and froze overnight. They were hard for me to press out with my hands but I just tipped it upside down on the counter and pressed each square with a can of beans and they popped right out! Super easy. Took 1 star off because one of the lids cracked when it froze. Cleaned extremely easy just spraying it with hot water.

Poor idea!!!
A total joke. These ice cube trays have a soft silicon bottom that you have to "punch" to get the ice cube out. The outer frame is too stiff to twist. If you want to have to remove each cube individually, these are for you. If not, look elsewhere.

Good idea... bad execution.
These were good in theory... bad in execution. I can’t get the ice out. The flexible bottoms freeze along with the ice and pushing them does nothing. You can’t twist them like normal trays either. Don’t waste your money.

Rather small cubes
The trays are really very nice and seem to be easy to use, but you do need to use lid in order to stack them. Takes a bit to get used to pushing the cubes out rather than fighting with a regular tray, but much nicer in the end. You get cubes instead of chips. My only problem with them was the size of the cube, just a little to small for me. Hoping they"ll come out with an extra large size as I like my cubes to last for awhile.
