The Abus 180IB/50 All-Weather Solid Brass Padlock is a reliable choice for securing outdoor items in any weather. The solid brass body and stainless steel shackle make it exceptionally durable and resistant to rust and corrosion, even in harsh conditions. The 4-dial resettable combination is easy to set and provides excellent security without the hassle of keys. The dials turn smoothly, and the lock feels sturdy and well-made. It’s perfect for gates, sheds, lockers, or any outdoor application where durability is essential. Highly recommended for those seeking a weatherproof and user-friendly padlock for outdoor use!

One-handed unlocking. Quality combo lock
I didn't want to spend nearly $30 on a lock for this outdoor application, but this model appears to be the only thing on the market that fits the bill, and I'm grateful for it. I needed a combo lock for ease of use, especially to share access with others. The application is outdoors in rainy humid Florida. I didn't want to risk a combo lock rusting and seizing up over time, if I were out of town and someone needed access to feed pets. The other combo locks about this size on the market deemed about half the price and half the quality of this one. This a bus lock operates smoothly. I agree with other reviewers that the number dials spin much more easily in one direction than the other, but it works for me so I can live with it. With a single hand, I can lift the lock on it's chain, hold it upside down and enter the code with my thumb, then squeeze the lock closed in my grip so it pops open. This is so handy because I often have the other hand full when I want to get access.

Best Water Resistant Locks So Far
Use several of these in our youth baseball league, all in outdoor environments not at all protected from the rain. Never had a problem with these. A bit pricier than others but it's the only one so far that's been reliable. Master makes a big, fancy looking lock that's supposed to be for outdoor use. We tried a 6-pack of those and every one failed. The dials just freeze up on them, you need to bang on the with something or sometimes just cut the lock off entirely. Go with these if you want an outdoor lock.

Some features may be annoying
Some features that might be considered annoying: When rotating the dial to the correct combination, the lock does not open if you then pull on its shackle (like most locks do) nor does it open itself. The shackle remains closed. You must push the shackle in and it then springs open. This can be confusing to someone who you may give the combination to but is not familiar with requiring the shackle to be pushed in. That person may believe they have entered the correct combination but can’t get it to open. To close the lock shackle and relock it, the combination must first be changed from its value used to open it, otherwise the shackle just springs back open. This is probable a good thing as you could not accidentally reclose it and have it actually be unlocked if you were able to reclose it and forgot to spin the numbers to relock it. The combination dial digits cannot be rotated beyond 0 to get directly to 9. You must rotate 0,1,2…9. Thus if a digit in your combination is say 2, when changing the digit to close the lock, you cannot spin the dial down from 2 if you wish to leave the digit at say 8. This is probable a feature meant for being able to unlock when you have a hard time seeing the digits. You could spin them until they cannot spin anymore, meaning they are then at 0. Then you simply move them one digit at a time, counting how many clicks you move until you get to that digit’s value. It requires a special key to be inserted into its side in order to change its combination. I can imagine that key getting misplaced after a while should you wish to change the combination in the future. It has a stainless steel shackle with brass body, so seems good for outdoor use. The Master Lock 1175LHSS also has a stainless steel shackle, does not require a separate key to change its combination and I believe will open by pulling on it after the combination has been entered. But it might be able to be reclosed with its combination still set to its open position, requiring its digits to be remembered to be spun.

Super expensive. As a product it is not bad, but I can buy it locally from a locksmith at a fraction of this.

Using outdoors on the waterfront. Subjected to extremely cold temperatures, snow, rain, wind. No issues. Working well since installed 1 year ago

Excellent quality lock ... already been bashed and burned in a public park and hasn't surrendered to the petty vandals that do such things. Thanks, Abus!

I remember it was pretty hard to set the combination when I got it. 6 months later, now it just won't close (not a forgotten combination, it worked 15 minutes before just giving up)

I really like the sturdy weight to this padlock. It was super easy to set the combination. The rollers are so easy to use. I'm loving it so far!
