Good Value For Money
Good shotgun. Mic. The inbuilt re-chargeable battery is a great feature. Pricing is another positive point. Having used it extensively, I have found it to be a lower-gain mic than the NTG-3 or any Sennheiser as well as less bright sounding. But it is at a much better price.

No need for AA batteries
Just get this plus version already, not needing new batteries everytime is soooo underrated!

Faulty Rode x 2
I received this item on the usual next day delivery. It worked until after it had been charged up, then nothing but flashing lights on it. I spoke to Amazon and they were brilliant they sent me an immediate replacement that I received the very next day. This one worked on receipt but again needed charging, this time I used the computer instead of a wall socket and charger, the same happened it wouldn't work after charging. By this stage I was furious. I sent Rode two emails which were not answered until over a day later. By this time I had spoken to Amazon who arranged for an immediate refund so that I could buy a Sennheiser SME 600 which was received the next day, this one worked perfectly. Rode did admit to me that they had a bad batch of batteries two years ago, I have seen emails on a forum ( jwsoundgroup.net ) from 2017 yes three years ago off someone asking for help with exactly the same fault I had. What chance have we got when they either can't or won't sort faults out in 3 years. No ifs, buts or excuses that is a disgrace and unforgivable. I will never buy from Rode again. There response was look warm at best. Throughout this Amazon were truly helpful, efficient and couldn't possibly have done more for me . Thank you Amazon

Simply The Best Professional Shotgun Mic On A Budget
After many issues with lapel/shirt mics failing due to their delicate size i took the plung with a shotgun mic and it's safe to say i will never be going back. The quality is extremely professional and due to the directional nature of the mic as long as it's close and pointed towards your speaking subject, it blocks out almost all background noise. If you want professional results on a budget then this is the perfect microphone for boom pole interviews both in inside and outside environments. The 120 hour battery, usb charging and 10 year guarantee is the best performance i've ever seen on a mic. The days of worrying about breaking micrphones or the battery running out on jobs are gone, now i can just focus on the job in hand without worry. True pro performance.

Great value mic
I use this to record straight into a GH5 Camera with a cable that has XLR at one end and 3.5m mic at the other. It works well! The GH5 doesn't supply phantom power so a mic with built in battery is a must. When used with a Zoom H6 [with XLR to XLR] the performance is even better!Strangely it seems to be cheaper than the NTG2 which in my experience has a lower gain and inferior noise floor.Get the NTG4+!

Somewhat thin sound compared to NTG3 - but a fraction of the price
I use this as a backup solution to NTG3, which is a much better (and much more costly) mic. I like the rechargeable option on this, and that it can switch to Phantom power when needed. The sound is fine for most uses, but it is only when you compare it to its more expensive brother that limitations show up. Actually, I have an NTG 2 as well, and I think that mic sounds better.

Good quality, great results for the price
This is a heavy, well-built microphone that gives excellent results. A couple of criticisms - the USB charging port is a bit fiddly to reach (thank goodness for long battery life) and the mic holder was a very tight fit. Neither issue warrants dropping a star. Recommended.
