The BEST row counter I have EVER used
Note: This post is on the product page for a row counter, the mini kacha-kacha. Someone commented that I should not leave this review on the page of a yarn cutter, and although I triple-checked that the page is for the counter, not a cutter, there are reviews for multiple Clover products, including various pom-pom makers, a cutter, and a counter. In front of each review, it says "This review is from:" followed by a product link. (Note that you only see this information if you click on "See all customer reviews.") Apparently, all product reviews for Clover products are just pooled now. Clover is a good brand, but that does not mean that all products are identical. I used to live in Japan a long time ago, and it was a paradise when it came to craft supplies, where Clover was the #1 name. They had many wonderful items that are have been making their way across the sea in recent years, probably due to the exposure the web brought. This little counter is priceless, and I make a habit of locking it after every row change, which is easy and effortless. I got tired of pulling my row counter out of my bag only to find that I had suddenly increased my row count wildly, even when the counter was carefully protected. If you don't use the safety lock and drop it, you can hardly blame the counter, since the only way to prevent it from increasing the row count if you drop it on its head would be to sell them permanently locked, which would make it a rather useless item. The only alternative in my opinion is to write down your rows manually, and it is much more work to pick up a pencil and pad than to unlock, click, and relock, which can be done with one hand in only a few seconds. (I alm likely to spend much longer than that looking for my pencil and pad in the bottom of my bag.) I am planning to turn it into a necklace when I have time to make a braid for it, because I like the fact that it hangs upside down, the way old-fashioned nurses' necklace watches used to be (which tells you how old I am). That means that if you wear it around your neck, you just have to tilt it up, not twist it around, to double-check your row count. If you have ever gritted your teeth and resorted to figuring out what row you are on yet again, you will love this. (Not all types of projects make this easy, especially certain types of crochet patterns, and that goes double for fancy-dyed yarns.) I have gotten to the point I don't write reviews as often, since they are a lot of work to do properly and too many people pollute the process because they review the seller, not the product, but I am crazy about this little gadget, and I think it deserves the kudos.

Cute and works great
This works awesome. I love it. It has a locking feature which is nice. The numbers click into place smoothly and dont stick. It is very well made. It is small but definitely worth the money. I also like the fact it has a place at the top for you to put a string into if needed.

Super nifty
Got this because I can't keep track of row numbers for beans (which in my defence, if there's a bunch of rows, besides counting every row, how to be sure?) I was using a note app on my phone, but that was a pain in the caboose. I like it because as long as the row number is lower than 10, I can change the 10s number to the amount of rows I need. It's easy to change the numbers manually, though I wish the dial went both ways so I don't have to click the wheel through a bunch of numbers. (It's not that many numbers. There's a dial for both 2s and 10s, I'm just lazy and OCD) I like that it has a lock to prevent number loss when not in use. It doesn't come with anything to wear on your neck like displayed, however it is warned that it doesn't, and a bit of yarn works just fine for that. I don't personally think it feels very durable, however it's a very low price, and unless you're lobbing it around for some reason, I highly doubt it's going to fall apart or something. It's very light so you don't even notice you're wearing it (I walked around the house for half an hour having forgot it was there.) and it's not very big at all. Personally I love the color, but it's unfortunate they don't have options. I really do recommend this. It's a fantastic tool for your arsenal.

Handy and works well
I've tried a number of different stitch counter devices and strategies over the years. I used to use the counters that fit onto the knitting needle, but I found those were kind of small and awkward to manipulate. Other counters were rather big and a pain to carry around. This one is nice and small and fits anywhere. As others have pointed out, it is shown with a lariat but comes without one, so you will have to use your own cord. Also as others have pointed out, the main drawback of this counter is that there is no reset button on it. This is obviously to keep you from accidentally resetting your counter back to 0 with a stray hand movement, but when the time comes that you do need to reset to 0, it's sort of a pain because you have to use the wheels on the sides of the counter to go forward through the numbers until you get to 0. It would be simpler just to have a reset button with a bar that locks it. You could keep the bar on all the time and only disengage it when you want to reset. Aside from these issues, this is a cute and handy counter that works well and keeps an accurate count. I actually do not use it to count stitches; I count rows in patterns that have a different pattern every row for a certain number of rows. The pattern I'm currently working on has a different pattern for each of 4 rows, and then you repeat those 4 rows over and over. That makes it important to know what row I'm on when I put my knitting away. This counter works perfectly for that, and I'm always happy to have it since it's really hard to tell what row I'm on just by examining the pattern on this one. As long as you can supply your own cord or have a pocket to stick this item in within your knitting bag and don't mind redialing back to 0 each time you get to the end of a set, you'll like this counter. The numbers are easy to read, and the lever is easy to push. It's a lot handier than keeping track with pencil and paper, which is what I had resorted to before I bought this.

Un prodotto utile, basta solo ricordarsi di fare clic ad ogni giro... Semplice da usare e non così fragile. Mi piace.

This knitting counter was a bit more expensive than I was wanting to pay, but is worth every cent. It is simple, easy to use, and kind of reminds me of a cute smiling frog. I wear it on a piece of yarn around my neck when I need to count stitches or rows. I like that it is lockable. I would definitely purchase again, but it seems durable enough that I expect I’ll have this “friendly frog” for life. It also arrived very quickly from Scotland to Aus.

Much better than finished writing rows etc on a pad, this is the second Clover item I have purchased, they are the best I have ever used.
