My two year old dog has liver problems due to being overweight. I bought a medicine from the vet for $200 initially because I was devasted and just wanted the best for my dog. I did some research and the vet told me the medicine I bought from them was essentially milk thistle. I did a lot of research and read a lot of reviews and this product is the smart choice. My dog has lost weight , I’ve been giving her a dog food for weight management and I sprinkle this on her food twice a day and she has no problem eating it, she even licks it off of her bowl, so it’s fair to say it has a good flavor, dog approved!

This Milk Thistle supplement has proven to be a valuable component for my entire arsenal of medications and supplements which assist and control lover problems in older dogs. This product, in addition to Marin, and another supplement, recommend d by my vet. has considerably helped my 12 year old female Brittany . She was having issues with arthritis in her front legs, and just laying around looking miserable. I spoke with my vet. and a liver function test was performed. We discovered that her liver was not in very good condition, and the NSAID's we were giving we're not helping the problem.We began a treatment problem consisting of Danemarin, Marin, the product listed on this page, and completely dropped the NSAID's. Within about a week we began to notice that she was looking perkier, and moving around a bit more. As time passed, she seemed to become more of her old self,I was sceptical about using this supplement, as well as the Marin and Danemarin, it just seemed unlikely that they would work. She was just too old, and had too many issues with arthritis. However, this produc, along with a few others has made a remarkable difference. Instead of laying around looking miserable, she is becoming more and more active, even jumping up onto the side of the bed.This Herbsmith Milk Thistle has truly assisted my little fur girl, and I am forever grateful. I have since spoken with other dog owners who have had the same results when this product was used on their pet. I had never even heard of Milk Thistle before it was suggested by my vet., and now I am so very glad that. I overcame my cynicism.This is not a cheap product, and neither are the other supplements mentioned in this review. I am fortunate to only need this for a few dogs. but it seems to be working well with my dogs, with no discernible side effects. Their liver function test results continue to improve, and I am grateful to have access to these supplements, which remove the pained look of my older dogs as they try to stand, or to climb the stairs.I recommend Milk Thistle as a product that can assist some dogs in some cases. I do not believe that the brand makes much of a difference. It is best to buy from a thoroughly researched supplier, and to be certain that one is actually getting what has been ordered. The cheaper brands can possibly contain impurities, which must be avoided at all costs.

Give this to my dog daily as he is on heart meds. Just had his senior panel done and all bloodwork looked great. I totally recommend I just mix it in his raw diet.

My dog suffers from Inflammatory bowel disease and food allergies. This product has helped to reduce her symptoms and frequency of attacks. I recommend it.
