PS3 Finally Works!
You DO need to swap the logic boards with the old drive when installing the new one. Everything works great except the drive makes an odd noise when inserting and ejecting discs. Not sure if it’s a reman, old new stock, or used discs but would be nice to know.

Please do not waste your time.
I ordered this drive for my PS3 that stopped reading discs and giving me the dreaded ejecting sound when trying to read discs. The shipping was super fast, it came in less than 2 days. What I received was not a new drive. There were notable scuff marks on the outside of the drive. After switching out the logic board and installing the drive, It started up and read games fine....for less than 24 hours. The first night I played Red Dead Redemption for about 2 hours. The next night I try to play it and surprise, it won't read the disc and the eject sound is back. The only way it works is if I stand it up vertically with the drive facing down and prop it up like that. My guess is they refurbished this piece of junk and sent it out before testing.

It works.
It works great... seems faster than the one I had, but that may be due to the one I had was on it's way out and failing. Just be aware that there is some work you need to do as far as swapping out boards and things when you get it. Be sure to read the instructions, but even if you are unfamiliar with PS3 but have some general knowledge about computer repair you will do fine.

This worked perfect for me. Disc slides in and out fine, and it is reading games.I just want to say to anyone reading this, please check the bottom of your PlayStation and look at the model number. Make sure you are getting the right drive for your console.

Good replacement Good price
This is a refurb drive and it is working well in my system. My only criticism would be that the drive did not come with one of the cables I was expecting it to have but I just took the cable from my broken drive and made it work. Overall this is a good product and the sellers are easy to work with.

I ended up using just the laser reader out of the one I ordered and replacing it with my bad one. I opened up the casinging and the inside components had rusted up I had to clean and grease the components.

Product is great, but replacement is more involved than just adding the drive to your playstation. You have to transfer the logic board from your old Playstation Drive to the new Drive. Look up the video on YouTube or search for the instructions on the internet before attempting to replace the unit yourself.

Works well. Follow the directions exactly and swap out the board with the old one.
