Economical and the squirrels love it!
I was purchasing a different product, but received several price increases and decided with as many as the woodpeckers and squirrels go through in a month, I needed something more cost effective. These seed cakes are much less than my previous choice, and there has been no reduction in the amount being eaten by my wildlife guests. I'm guessing they are a big hit for a reason. So, if you want a good tasting, economical, easy to use seedcake, this one definitely fits the bill.

Usually good product with a lone exception
My backyard birds love the seed cake. All of the cakes have been good with the lone exception of the last one. The seed cake was not hard. It appears that moisture got into the package causing a fungus to develop. The contents were discolored as well as being mushy. See photo. Hopefully this will be the only one received in such poor condition.

Birds love when they're fresh. These not so much
Close to experation date and where crumbling inside packing and fell apart within a few days. Have bought these in stores with no issues before but found that online they aren't the same.

Birdseed Cake
Great product and birds love it ! Only problem is with Amazon shipping it in a plastic bag. It arrived mostly crushed and barely usable for the cage. They replaced, but the second one also arrived crushed, in a plastic bag. I specifically asked to ship in a box. Now tired of complaining.

Like buying a bag of seed
These show up a crumbled mess in a bag. You end up pouring out the seed on the ground as there is virtually nothing left of it's shape to put into a feeder. I think they are out of date warehouse stock and will no longer order.

Good quality
I've been buying this 2-lb Woodpecker seed cake for a couple of years. THE WOODPECKERS AND JAYS LOVE IT!!! This is my 4th attempt to leave a review. It is SUPPOSED to be one large seed cake to fit in a seed cake holder . Broken pieces are useless in the feeder basket. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to provide shipping protection. The price is all over the place: sometimes reasonable; currently more than doubled. Spare me the supply chain excuse. In summary, I *do* recommend it.
