Better Quality Dice Than I Expected; Fun to Play With
This is a terrific product. The dice are both larger and better quality than I expected (they're larger than the standard polyhedral Dungeons & Dragons dice many gamers are familiar with). The images on the dice are crisp not likely to wear out. The casts that these dice were made from must be very high quality. The box they come in is thin, cheap cardboard though -- as a main storage option, it's not going to last very long if you use the dice regularly. Not a significant issue for me, since I put them in a nice dice bag immediately anyway, but the packaging certainly doesn't compare favorably to, say, Rory's Story Cubes.Speaking of the famous Rory's, which I am a big fan of, I like the images on these Story Time Dice a little better just because they seem more story oriented. I like that the Rory's cubes force you to think a little more about how to make what you rolled into a story, but with these I do enjoy that every roll just seems to immediately suggest half a dozen classic story possibilities. But we've also had a lot fun combining these Story Dice with Rory's Cubes too, to get the best of both worlds. And as a long-time tabletop roleplaying gamer, I really enjoy Story Time's use of the classic polyhedral dice shapes (six-sided, eight-sized, twelve-sided, etc.).The booklet has some fine suggestions, but really, as with Rory's Story Cubes, the most fun with these dice is simply rolling 'em and making stuff up. We've had a blast doing this with just adults and teens, but of course with younger kids it's even more awesome because the stuff they make up is often hilariously, creatively insane (especially if you combine this with some of the Rory's Cubes like I mentioned earlier). If you want to exercise your imagination or have a fun family game night without a lot of rules, this is a great product.

Big, chunky dice. Cool for inspiration.
As with the other set from this company, these dice are somewhat larger than standard. They roll well and work for inspiring stories. I use them when I want to spark ideas for tabletop RPG encounters. There's a guide for using them with kids to work on their storytelling.Unlike the other set, these don't glow in the dark. But I don't usually roll dice in the dark, so it's all good.

Great story starter
The possibilities are endless. Just roll the dice and create a story. Roll again and add to the story or create a new one. Or create your characters (heroes and villains) and their tools with 3 dice, then build a story with the other 4. This is great for getting the creative thoughts flowing. More options than other story dice as there are polyhedral dice in this set.

6-year-old grandson had a blast! Educational and fun!
My grandson and I enjoyed these so much. Each die is a different story element- a person/animal, a location, an action, an object. We made up silly stories and talked about the different parts of a story these dice were - setting, character, plot. Highly recommend!

My grandkids love making up stories and these dice are so fun to help them create new stories. I bought this set and the Scary Tales set. The whole family joins in or it will be just the 5yr & 6 1/2yr old. They provide different games you can play or just roll the dice and make up a story :)

My third graders LOVED these! They really upped their "on task" time
My third graders LOVED these! They really upped their "on task" time...but really they were used mostly for oral storytelling! I had kids roll the dice, and in groups, each grab a dice to make up part of the story! Then they had to repeat what the person before them added to story. They loved it! Lots of good language skills--we made a list of word they couldn't use (dead words) and they had a blast with them.

Screen-Free Fun for Kids
This is a really great toy that requires kids to use their imaginations. My daughter is 7 and likes these. She likes to write little stories, so I thought this would be a great way to encourage her writing and could be a fun way to boost creativity. My only complaint is that I wish there were more variations on the dice. This can be remedied by purchasing story dice made by other brands and adding or mixing them up.
