Bluewave Lifestyle Water Bottle

I read the reviews and decided that since more were positive than negative that the people who gave 1 star reviews were just hard on the bottles. Unfortunately I was wrong because both bottles I purchased shattered at the seam on the bottom within 4 months. I've been careful with these bottles because they are light-weight and not as sturdy as I expected. I always carried and carefully set them down with both hands (had to, I'm short-ish!). And they did leak at the cap when on their side. I was so disappointed with such a short life-span that I contacted the company because I really think this is a manufacturing defect. Bluewave was very nice and polite but made it clear that since I purchased through Amazon fulfillment that there was nothing they would do to help me - "Due to company policy we cannot provide any returns or exchanges for this order" is the exact phrasing. Come to find out, Amazon only takes returns in perfect (aka re-sellable) condition. After a few more emails it became clear that Bluewave is not a customer-satisfaction-oriented company. :( So I emailed them back letting them know I'd be reviewing this product on Amazon giving them 1 star, then I would post a link for my Facebook friends to read my review. To that I got a reply with a long pre-written message about "intended and proper use" of their products. It felt like a slap in the face after contacting them to let them know I'd BEEN using them properly and as intended. I just feel bad that Bluewave made the choice to not even offer me a credit for purchase directly through their website.P.S. My husband uses 2, 1 gallon Bluewave water bottles on a construction job-site every day. They are still going strong!P.P.S. This plastic may be BPA-free but it IS #7 plastic which has been linked to hormone inhibitors.

Bottle is fragile. Smallest impact will cause it to break. Spent the last 2 days drying out car after 5 gallons spilled in the trunk and flowed into the backseat. I reached out to customer service and still no resolution.Edit: Response from their customer service team. Basically they don't back their products past 30 days. I have other BPA free water bottles from other companies that have never had an issue. Unfortunately, our replacement policy is 30 days and this order was placed almost one year ago. These bottles are BPA-free, which BPA is a component used as a strengthener in polycarbonate bottles. Due to the absence of BPA, our BPA-free bottles are not as durable, but are safe from chemical leeching components. There is no "perfect" plastic bottle when it comes to durability and consumption safety.Best regards,Customer Rep

I bought several of these 3-gallon bottles less than a year ago. I was pleased to find a BPA bottle and while $20 seemed high, I didn't mind when I thought that I was getting a high-quality long lasting item. I was hoping to store the bottles on their sides, but that didn't work because the caps weren't water tight no matter how hard I screwed them on. We're pretty gentle on the bottles so I haven't had a chance to test their stength, but this week, my grocery cart was bumped and a filled bottle rolled out of the space under the cart. It only dropped a few inches, and not at high speed, but the bottle shattered spilling water all over the grocery store. I contacted Blue wave and they told me to work with amazon, but amazon's return policy isn't helpful either. Disappointed.Update: a few weeks later, another bottle broke when it tipped over. Reducing my rating to 1 star. Total garbage! Do not buy these bottles!

I have been using several Bluewave water bottles (3 gal) for over three years. I have been carrying them to and from water filling stations, putting them in the car trunk, back seat and car floor with no issues. I have dropped two jugs while they were full of water. Of course the jugs cracked. There is no way these jugs won't crack if slammed around or dropped when full of water. I replaced them with Bluewave brand jugs. The latest jug is indeed "squishier" than the earlier models. The carrying handle is also a bit thicker. I believe the new design gives the jug more "give" when bounced around. This COULD reduce stress on the jug and prevent cracking if banged, bumped or slammed by accident. I have no complaints. My lids have never leaked. I clean them with dilute bleach every couple of months. Zero problems!

Love it, safe and pours great too

It has been good so far, as advertised, assuming it is BPA free - but we will never know and we take the manufacturer word for it.The only issue that I found is that the blue caps largely available in the stores when refilling the container do not fit this type of container. I had to improvise in order to be able to use one.But for those who do not need to use the blue caps shouldn't be a matter of concern.I would give it 4.5 / 5 .

This is a good and sturdy tank for the water cooler. I like that it’s smaller allowing me to lift it on my own. Recommend.

So this bottle was crazy pricey for what you get. It's a lot smaller than I thought. Way too expensive for the size.
