French ToastGirls' Classic Pleaterd Skirt, School Uniform for Kids

We got this skirt for my kiddos Hermione costume. First and foremost it works PERFECTLY in Charcoal for a first year Hermione costume. The quality of the fabric is great. HOWEVER this darn thing is HUGE. My kid COMFORTABLY wears size 7 in a MULTITUDE of other brands. This skirt was so huge in a size 7 it slid right off of her. Yea it has adjustable waist but the darn thing was a solid size and a half to 2 sizes too freaking big. It's too close to our con for me to return the dang thing for the right size so now she'll get to walk around with a huge wad of bunched up skirt at her back. Just be aware to size down a MINIMUM of 1 size when buying this unless you like the look of huge wadded up fabric in the back.

Quality is great. Nice thick fabric. Sharp pleats. Sturdy waistband and zipper. Decently heavy for colder weather, but not obnoxiously heavy for summer. There's also adjustable elastic inside the back waist to make it a bit tighter if needed, even on larger sizes. You can tell in the picture the pleats aren't sewn down, which means there's ample room if you have wider hips. It is long as advertised, and hits right below the knee on me (5'4"). Most pleated skirts are either micro length or too long. I'll end up hemming this since I want something above knee, but this hits exactly where I expected it to.I dropped one star as the sizing is somewhat inconsistent from the size chart. I was concerned after reading reviews it ran big and ordered a 14 (28" waist). It measured exactly 28" and was too small for my 32" waist. I then ordered a 16 (30" waist) and 18 (32" waist). The 16 actually measured 32" and the 18 measured 34". The 16 fit me just perfectly, the 18 was a bit big but easily fixed by adjusting the elastic. I decided to keep both since I liked having a bit of room on the 18 to tuck in a heavy sweater.Hopefully this helps someone else to make the right call on sizing!

I ordered size 18 and turned out it was a little bit big on me. I'm 5'2, 140 lbs and I think that 16 would've fitted me. There is a zipper and a button on the side of the skirt. There is also an elastic band with buttons on both sides on the back of the skirt so you can tighten the skirt even more.Here are the measurements (I laid it flat on the ground)length from waistband down 23.5 inwaistband 18 in

This skirt is the PERFECT private school skirt!!! I don’t know why most uniform skirts are so short, the typical private school dress code is skirts to the knee, so finding skirts that I feel are appropriate length has been very difficult. I first ordered tho skirt last year in my daughters size and it was HUGE!! It fell off of her despite being adjusted to the tightest setting, so this year I ordered down a size and it STILL needed to be adjusted in the waist, but is way better that her “actual” size. The length is perfect, just at the knee, where I feel uniform skirts should fall anyways, I love this so much I have since ordered every color they have!! But these, they are the best private school skirt you’ll find!!!

We love these skirts for the durability, adjustability, length, and price. Just know that it runs very large. My daughter usually wears a 10/12 so we started with that size which was huge, then order an 8 which was also huge and then finally ended with a 7 and we still had to adjust the waist a little bit. I was worried that once we sized down, the length would be too short for what our school requires, but it still ended up hitting right above the knee for my very tall daughter. They wash really well and stay pleated after going through the washer and dryer. Great purchase.

So, I'm a 30 year old woman, and I'm kind of small.I've always liked pleated skirts, and I grew up with uniforms in my life in the past. I've always liked how practical uniform skirts were.I've bought this brand before, but I had to get rid of the ones I owned because I was being a little too "kind" about my waist size.Well, this time, I was too unkind, and ordered a size too big. Totally my fault. This skirt will be used for an at-home skirt (It's comfortable to sit in), but I'll definitely buy a size down next time.They're great quality, and modest. Thanks!

Great skirt! I bought this to go with my Halloween costume as Hermoine Granger. It will be perfect! I do want to make some corrections to the description - this does NOT have an elastic back as stated. However, it does have an adjustable waist (see picture). I purchased a size 20, because I figured that it would be better to have a skirt that was a little big, and have to take it in if needed. I am about a size 28 waist (7-9 in juniors sizing). I definitely would have been safe purchasing size 18. This skirt is also nice and long - not short and skimpy. I am 5'7", and it goes below my knees. Overall, I'm super excited to wear this skirt for Halloween, and most likely church as well! It was a great price (suggested price: $24).

As a mom of 2 (boy and girl), the French Toast brand has become my favorite for school uniform shopping. Their price and quality have never let me down.I wanted to try this skirt for my daughter, as she likes "fancy" stuff, and I thought the pleats might fit that bill. The price was reasonable, and the material is what I've come to expect: a blend that will wash well, not pill, and not wrinkle, or at least not easily. Also, as is customary, the waistband has the adjustable tabs. I was honestly afraid that they might phase that out with the larger sizes. Nope.It fits fine in the waistband, even sans adjustment, but it is really rather long. It is more of a tea length on her - very different from the photo. I think my daughter was a bit put off, although I don't necessarily mind it. This will likely mean, however, that we'll be saving this skirt for cooler months to wear with boots.

I ordered this for my daughter, she is a size 10. I figured because it's online clothes order a size up so I purchased a 12. It arrived and it didn't not fit. It was grossly small, my 7 year old couldn't even fit into it. Do better.
