The Collected Works of Bernhard Riemann (Dover Books on Mathematics)

Riemann is my favorite mathematician, for any number of reasons, including his titanic role in complex analysis and differential geometry, and, of course, his single paper in number theory --- arguably the most important paper ever written in mathematics. To have his Gesammelte Abhandlungen in my possession (for a smile: thank you, Dover), is a blessing indeed.

Even though the book was in German, it was still straightforward and easy to comprehend. I love it!

DO NOT BUYIt's 19th century German and only 3-4 pages of English at the start of the Introduction. What a shame that AMAZON falsely labels the book as English.I should have read the cover literally.I doubt they'll ever offer it in English which is too bad I wanted to learn about differential geometry/tensor calculus from its creator.

This is the collected works of one of the greatest mathematicians of all time. It has long been unavailable, and perhaps the reason it is now here at a reasonable price, is the fact that an excellent English translation is now offered by Kendrick Press. I have found a few small errors however in the English version, by comparison with the original. More over the translation does not include the "Nachlass" from the original, so for those who know German, this is a great opportunity to read the original words of a true genius. I myself have only minimal German, but I already benefited just from puzzling out the words in the headings of some of the paragraphs. I.e. just seeing what topics he presented and in what order was illuminating. This man's work has inspired research for over 150 years and continues to do so. I believe one of the million dollar Clay Institute prizes is on the topic of completing one of the famous papers herein, the famous "Riemann hypothesis".

It was in german :( I thought I bought the english version, I payed 50 box extra comparing with buying the german one from germany

Es un libro excelente, he leído poco y di una ojeada a todo y me parece excelente su forma de tratar todos los temas incluidos. Es una manera de ver cómo es que pensaba uno de los mejores matemáticos de todos los tiempos y los logros que tuvo. Este libro es la mejor fuente para leer los trabajos de Riemann. Lo recomiendo a los matemáticos y a los estudiantes de la carrera de matemáticas!!!!!

worthless i don't know german 12 januaru 2021 i want this book sell just half price because i found it useless for me. condition of this book is best.
