The older edition was better I think. This seems to be a very baseline explanation in my opinion. There are things that are more pertinent to yourself as a technician that this seems to lack.

PROS: This is a fantastic book for the someone who wants to enter the diesel big rig truck trade, which can be known as the 310T or 310S trade. This has an abundance of knowledge with blow out detailed diagrams for many truck components such as brake chambers, slack adjusters, differentials and many more things. CONS: This book does not have a single chapter for engines and engine components. You will not learn about turbo assemblies, intake manifolds, exhaust manifolds, EGR equipments, or the inner workings of any engine. For that, you will need to consider another book, perhaps this one: ISBN-13: 978-1305578555. Hope this helps you in making you buying decision. I don't regret this book what so ever.
