Do your own research for your local laws pertaining to motor vehicles.I needed a mirror for my sedan because the driver side door was damaged and removed from an accident. I needed to get around town and from my understanding cars require a mirror to be affixed to both sides of the car. However, it is legal in my city to drive without a door (think Jeep). Since the car's mirror is attached to the door, I needed a mirror to meet this requirement.I ordered the Fit System 1705 for this application. The description says it can be affixed to numerous places on the car. I put it between my hood on the driver's side. I lifted the hood up first, tightened the baseplate screws, attached it to the hood, and slowly lowered the hood to sandwich the mirror between the hood and the fender. The hood did not completely close but I drove on the highway and it never moved.My gripe with this product is that due to the location on the hood I really could not see what was behind me. The viewing space was extremely limited. I did try to adjust it several times but I never could get it right so it could be my error. I think the main application is for use on the door not the hood.

Added this mirror to my antique car and it worked greeeat. It's so much better being able to see the rear of the car. It was easy to install, just a few minutes.

Very well made product
Good quality mirror that can be clamped on, but I removed the clamp-on base (one screw) and used the screw threw an existing hole on the winshield stanchion of my MG TD. Looks like it belongs there and gives good side view.

Mine is worthless. not mirror glass and no mounting screws
Got it today. Shipping packages were in good shape however mounting screws are missing and has no mirror glass in it and they were not in the the shipping bag. The package had been opened. It looked like it had been returned and just shipped out to me. it is worthless. Just a peace of metal .
