Better Than TV
This is one book I guarantee is better than the Perry Mason/Raymond Burr episode. The book is crisper, with more plot twists and frankly, just more entertaining than the TV segment. Whether you've seen the TV version of not, please read this book! You won't be disappointed.

Excellent
Great effort from the author. Erie puts a lot of zing in his Petty Mason books. I only wish he would have written 1000.

one the sweetest of the PM mysteries
This mystery is just as sweet as can be from about halfway through right to the end...with the clever twists toward the end that you expect from EG.

If you can read only one...
Gardner's Perry Mason novels are a bit repetitive, but very well done. I have blown them off for decades because they were so overdone on television that it was almost impossible to give anyone a fair jury trial during the 60s. Finally reading them in my 70s, I find the books are much better than the TV series, although I saw very little of it. Perjured Parrot, however, stands out as quintessential Perry-in-print, with all the elements at their best. So, if you can only be bothered with one, do try this one.

An enjoyable read!
I've been watching the resurrected Perry Mason series on TV recently and decided to check out one of the books. Well written with action moving you along at a steady pace. Mr. Gardner gives clues along the way but unlike murder mysteries where you know "who dun it" before the midway point, and are just waiting for the author to prove you right, I went all the way through still guessing. I'm now interested in reading more of these classic books and matching wits with that great lawyer, Perry Mason.

Fun read
So much fun reading old Perry Mason books.Brings out the nostalgia- more deceptive than the 1950's series.

The Case of The Purjured Parrot
I really enjoyed re-reading a Perry Mason Mystery after many years. I especially liked this one because our kids have a parrot. It is a little humorous in places and Perry gets himself in pretty deep waters with some red herrings thrown in. I think this is one of the earliest Perry Mason Mysteries because in one place it talks about a speak-easy. Now I want to re-read all of Erle Stanley Gardner's Perry Mason books.

A new experience...
I've never heard of a coroners inquest, so it added interest. The characters had depth and interesting philosophies, good and bad. Most of all, the facts were all there, to be interpreted by you and Mason.

Another excellent read!
This was amongst a selection of Perry Mason books bought as a gift for my Mum. Very good story. Thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish.

Interesting case
A very interesting case! This is one case where it is not exactly a jury or court hearing, but one with minimum technicalities. This is where Mason clears the case at the coroner's inquest itself.A very interesting thing is, that it has most things in double! I guess Gardner wanted to confuse the case as much as possible. All in all, interesting read.
