DTVPal Plus Dish Network DTV Receiver

I use these boxes to supplement my cable tv, with OverTheAir channels. I've tried other boxes, but none do as good a job with the weaker signals, and the program guide on this box is far superior to the EPG on other units. I use these to feed the AV input on my digital TVs and my analog TVs.These boxes will respond to DishNetwork signals on a universal remote, even though the original remote sends a different signal. This comes in handy because these boxes don't have any controls on the unit (government specs to comply with the old coupon standards) Lose the remote, and the unit was useless. But most universal remotes will handle a dishnetwork box, so you are back in business.

It works

I love the DTVPal Plus converter as a new model. This one was used, and had a couple of issues. One, I had to clear the old channels from it's memory. This I had to figure out via going into the "Main Menu", then into "Setup" and find the correct area to delete the old channels. Once done, it scanned for new channels and has kept them in memory just fine. The other issue is it will sometimes freeze screen, or just shut down without warning. It is a used model so I can't expect it to be perfect.

Every thing I wanted at a reasonable price

Getting a newer TV so I returned the DTV receiver.

I returned this item. It did not meet my expectations.

GREAT ,SO FAR IT"S DOING THE JOB

This is my cheap substitute for a TV-I have it hooked to a projector and it worksfairly well. The menu could be a little better but if your looking for a cheap tuner,this is it.
