This microscope was an excellent buy.
This microscope is an excellent buy. When I install the package and immediately started to use it to weld a really small piece of a cell plate and was quite comfortable and easy to work with him and I could do my job effectively. Excellent product. I think it was a very good buy.

Quality and simple to use, good return policy, very fun!
Arrived in great condition, easy to set up and use after I found a video on Youtube for this specific model. Pamphlet was clear and helpful. Fun to look at fabric, insects, mold. Sadly I had to return it because adjusting the focus gives me bad motion sickness (old analog cameras did that too). A bummer. The only downside I found was with the eye guards on it were impossible for me to see past. I had to remove them and get right up to the lenses to see. One of the lenses focuses independently which is handy sometimes but you have to re-adjust the guard after it's focused as it will turn with the lens. This is just a minor annoyance and otherwise it's great. Returns are extremely smooth although there is a shipping fee.

Very good.
The microscope works very well. I am a professional scientist and the optics on this are as good as any professional quality instrument for this magnification. It comes with 2 bulbs installed and 2 spare bulbs. I only wish they had built in a place to keep the spare bulbs and stage plate. However, it's a lot smaller than I imagined, the product pictures do not give a good sense of scale.

This is a great starter microscope BUT
This is a great starter microscope BUT I've had mine 1. 5 years, during that time it has developed a hum that won't go away. I have to unplug the microscope for it to stop. And now the lower light has stopped working. I've tried swapping light bulbs but nope, still doesn't work. I use that lower light a lot to sex tarantula molts. Now I have to find something else!

Excited 10 year old Grandson when he opened this gift.
My grandson was so excited when he started looking at the slides I ordered to look at with this Microscope. It was so much fun watching him look and share with me and his brothers and sisters things like bee's knees and rabbit blood. He has had a cheaper one that we looked at things like scum and spit, but we could see a difference. We can with this new one. It was a very reasonable price. It arrived fast and well packaged.

This is an excellent quality instrument
This is an excellent quality instrument. If you are unsure of whether a compound or stereo microscope is more fun for children, definitely start with a stereo scope like this one. Being able to grab any random bug, bit of food, or rock and see it immediately with no slide prep is key. I took these photos with an iPhone looking right through the microscope. They are the mint mark on a nickel, the seeds inside a blueberry, and the pixels from the battery icon on a smart phone.

... your little Einstein involved with science this is a good first step
If your are interested in getting your little Einstein involved with science this is a good first step. I do find myself helping my 8year old position the slides in the right spot for him to view but once in view he usually give out an audible "ooooh"!. The upper and lower illumination is a plus especially when it comes to looking at relatively thicker specimens, such as leaves, legos, erasers or whatever your little gets his hands on. This is a somewhat heavy piece of equipment so I'd caution care on deciding where to place it. I can imaging it crashing down on a little guys foot if not careful. Overall can't complain, although I did give it only 4 stars because the product pictures on this site seem to indicate that it comes with a digital monocular attachment allowing you to view the specimen through your computer. It is not included.

Happy with purchase
My 2yo and 4yo are eager to learn the anatomy of bugs and getting a closer look at other objects with this microscope. It's not too simplistic nor elaborate. A perfect learning tool for kids this age and even older!

I expected this would just have old-school halogen lights but it came with LED ones and is rechargeable to work without mains power. It also came with a dust cover and a little tool for positioning subjects. There is a glass stage disc and an opaque one (black on one side, white on the other). The optical quality and magnification is good for looking at the fine surface details of bugs and i have had great fun with it already. I didnt have any trouble adjusting it to fit my eyes though I leave the eyecups off because they force a bit of extra distance between my eye and the eyepiece. It is a solid meaty thing so I think it should last.

EXCELENTE RELACION PRECIO-CALIDAD.

Gracias saludos cordiales.
