Very good series

After reading other reviews on here I was hesitant to purchase this since some reviewers said the picture quality was so bad it was basically unwatchable. I took a chance for the 30.- bugs and I am so glad I did: it's an old film that is re-recorded but overall, the quality is excellent! No problems with aspect ratio or sound or colors or anything in my version. Really enjoying all the episodes. I watched all 111 of them and they all look great!

I've been told "Highway to Heaven" is a bit soppy/sweet. Well, sometimes it's good to have some simple, down-to-Earth story telling. So, this review is presuming you already like the series. The first thing that grabs you is the video quality. Not only is the remastering done well, it isn't grainy or flickering. It's a stunning job of rendering an 80's TV show! The second thing, and to me it was an unexpected bonus, is the letterbox format! So, no longer the 4:3 "classical" TV dimensions. It's real letterbox rendering of the original photography. It took me a while to realize that the letterbox format was unusual, having watched so much stuff in it that I don't think it's unusual. But when I took out my old HTH DVDs, I noticed it: ⅓ of the picture was missing on the DVD version. And the picture quality was so-so. SO, WOW to the people who did the BluRay re-mastering! Thanks!!

I recently purchased the DVD collection of this show and it looked ok. I did not watch it much when I was a kid but did watch Little House On The Prairie and loved Michael Landon as an actor. This show has such values that you just do not see in tv these days. This new Remastered Blu Ray Series is stunning visually. It is just as good visually as the Remastered Little House set. Such a bargain for $55. The product was shipped promptly and in perfect condition. Great value. I love the religious values taught and good human element presented in this series. A far cry from today's world. If you like wholesome values buy this set now.

What a fantastic price for all the 46 plus minute episodes 111 of them with some extras . Michael Landon and Victor French both outdid themselves with this series . Every show teaches life lessons and is suitable for all ages . The perfect show for family tv night . Do up a little popcorn or fruit and cheese slices and enjoy . Clean shows no worries though some may entertain subjects that are difficult for even adults to ponder though they are suitable for all ages . Important values are taught through often heartwarming story plots based on Christian beliefs as you follow Angel Johnathon along his travels with his friend Marc . This is tv the way it was meant to be . Shows after the first year are edited for TV time slots but absolutely wonderful . Even non Christians should find the story plots enjoyable and heartwarming .

Good TV series

Not sure there are really too many legitimate complaints when we are getting the whole series so cheap! While these don't bother me at all, it is important to know the following: - You are just getting the episodes and no extra features. (Well, there is a short blooper reel at the end of one of the seasons.) - The packaging is, I would say, efficient with no frills. All 23 discs come in one DVD case that is about 2 inches thick, and each disc is in a paper sleeve. Totally works, just no special or fancy packaging. (I actually like this because it takes up very little storage space relative to other individually packaged series.) As for the show itself, it's still a good show for kids and adults. I am not particularly religious; but I find this show to be more about hope and humanity than it is about preachiness. I'm too young to have watched it during most of its run and even though the episodes are clearly dated, I still find it entertaining. (Plus, it's fun to see all of the guest stars, many of whom went on to become bigger stars.)

Our family loves this series. We're in Australia and it plays well on our Sony DVD player. Love the old music and memories from the past not to mention every episode has an awesome learning moment, which offers great conversation with the kids. The kids 11,10 & 9 are having fun peeking into what the world used to look like. Well worth the money!

This show is still one of the best series they ever produced. Sadly that they stopped it, and more sadly for me is the fact that we knew it forever how we could stop greed and hate. But man will never change, Politicians don't, rich don't. Michael Landon and Victor Finch died much too early.

All I can say about this is if you have a multi regional or region 1 dvd player you will make a great saving from the regional 2 U.K version, it as every episode from all the five series of Highway to Heaven and is great value. The only negative thing I can find on this dvd set is the dvds are not placed separately they are piled on top of one another in separate sleeves, it is a great space saver compared to our box set which is five seasons in five cases, but then again the price difference is great as this set can be brought for under £28 new the U.K version is over £40 so the benefits are you are saving money and space. I don't want to say much about the series because I feel other five star reviews say it all, I enjoyed watching this when I was young and I do now and feel new and old audience will feel the same a great series and a lot of entertainment both for the young and old, so if I rated this box set on percentage I would give it 98% as it loses 2% because of the packaging because the discs are not as easy to get to without moving other discs, but otherwise it gains on percentage because of the room and money we save, this is a great boxset with hours of entertainment for little money a great bargain.
