A real page turner
Two strangers meet on a plane and reveal their deepest darkest secrets. Are they even strangers? Are those all the secrets they have? Who murders whom? Told by not 2, not 3, but by 4 different narrators, this book has twists and turns at just the right places so you'll stay hooked and won't know just what to predict. I know I found myself rooting for Lily right through the book despite her sordid past and towards the end I wished that the book just ended with her getting away. But the will she, won't she had me at the edge of my seat too and the final twist- let's just say it was just perfect. I don't think I've ever read a thriller book that left me smirking at the end. A must read!

real slow for me - but I had made up my mind to get through with it as I had read so many good reviews about this one
A full 5 stars for this book! This book started out slow, real slow for me - but I had made up my mind to get through with it as I had read so many good reviews about this one!Ted Severson & Lily Kintner meet on a flight from London to Boston, start talking about each other - Ted talks about his marriage, how his wife is not really a good match for him and he also mentions that she might be cheating on him - also jokingly mentioning that he could kill Miranda (his wife) for what she has done to him. Surprise, Surprise Lily Kintner offers to help him in this! According to Lily some people are better off dead, because they are the kind worth killing. Then starts the game of deciding/ planning the murders - Ted is unaware of Lily's dark past..Good surprise in the middle as well as how well this book ends!

Week plot. Exhaustive read.
The level of excitement I experienced reading the book was flat throughout. I think it is the character are very poorly introduced. The motive of the main character is very week. Ending was disastrous. Seems like author rushed to keep up with the publisher's deadline. Reading was so exhausting since I really hoped the book will end beautifully. Lastly please do not take this up on your vacation, I spoilt mine.

Good read to pick up while waiting at the lounge ...
Yes yes yes....this is definitely unputdownable....though I should warn that for readers familiar with Strangers on a Train may find this a deja vu...a very clever and interesting deja vu.Swanson has a flair for brief pithy sentences and chapters...a la James Patterson...and that helps in building up the interest and moving on quickly with the protagonists...not one but two of them..and both of them with their own minds full of twists and malice.Good read to pick up while waiting at the lounge and of course the lounge is where the book begins.

Good but it didn't leave me in awe
This was a great book in terms of plot and the way each character was connected to each other. Each twist and turn, especially the end was not very predictable and the book had a great tone. But i felt that the plot twists, or even the book as a whole wasn't gripping enough to leave me in amazement and reeling from the shocking revelations. I do admit that some of the twists were unpredictable, but they were not very surprising. It wasn't something that was hard to digest. But I do believe this book is worth a read, even though it may not be the best thriller it certainly is interesting and won't leave you too disappointed. That's the only reason I'm giving four stars.

Well-written, but too many implausible twists
This is plotted well, and the characters are intriguing. My issue with the book was some of the POV characters dying (It is disconcerting to come to know that a character who has been talking to you is actually dead) and also a few twists that seemed too implausible. Good to read once, but in the end I felt cheated, and unhappy with the book.

Nerve shredding!!!
One hell of a thriller rider with lots of twists n turns. I am not a hardcore reader, i read once in a while.. and if i start reading a book, it would take atleast 1 month for me to finish it.. but once i started reading this holly piece of brilliance, i put myself on edge of the seat and finished it in just 2 days! :O if you still miss a Gone Girl or A girl on the train, then this would be the Kind Worth Reading!!!!! Go for it, make sure your jaws are not dropping after the climax!! ;)

A cat and mouse chase
I decided to try this one after seeing lots of people raving about it and I think this was why I felt a bit disappointed. I’d read too many excellent reviews and expected too much, whilst it was very good - I wasn’t blown away.Ted is drinking in an airport bar when a beautiful woman with long red hair introduces herself and they begin to chat. Her name is Lily and they realise they are waiting for the same flight. They get to talking which leads to Ted admits to wanting to kill his wife for something she has just done. He is surprised when Lily not only doesn’t appear shocked but when she simply agrees to help. We follow them through a cat and mouse type thriller with a lot of twists and turns ahead.I really enjoyed Swanson’s writing style. Short snappy sentences and the perfect balance of description, I was able to flow through the book quite quickly. I also enjoyed how the twists came as early as about 45% through the book so you’re kept on your toes throughout. The reason for the three stars is purely because I found some of it, particularly the ending a little far fetched (I know it’s fiction but still) and the ending was also pretty blunt. However, if you are looking for a fast paced thriller that will keep you hooked and guessing until the end, I do recommend giving it a read.

Slow but comes good in the end
I decided on four stars for this book as it was in my opinion a little slow to start with but when it gets going it really twists and turns. In the end I actually think I felt sorrow for Lilly rather than hatred. This is my 1st book by Peter Swanson and as I enjoyed it I will look at his other titles

Deliciously twisty thriller
“Truthfully, I don’t think murder is necessarily as bad as people make it out to be. Everyone dies. What difference does it make if a few bad apples get pushed along a little sooner than God intended? And your wife, for example, seems like the kind worth killing.”I found ‘The Kind Worth Killing’ by Peter Swanson a superb crime thriller. Just brief plot details to avoid spoilers. When Ted Severson’s flight from Heathrow is delayed, he strikes up a conversation in the airport bar with the glamorous Lily Kitner. Over cocktails they start sharing details about their lives. Almost jokingly they hatch a dark plan. Might they actually go through with it?Obviously there’s a bit of a ‘Strangers on a Train’ vibe to this story. Or rather Strangers on a plane. This was definitely an edge-of-the-seat page turner. I was impressed by Swanson’s clever plotting. This was so deliciously twisty that I almost felt like I had whiplash by its final pages.Definitely recommended.

Great premise, but a little far-fetched
Ted meets Lily in a bar while waiting for a plane. Having just found out that his wife is cheating on him, Ted toys with the idea of killing her and discusses this to Lily, thinking no harm can come of a hypothetical conversation with a total stranger. But Lily seems to have experience in this area, or at the very least, ideas of her own, and offers to help Ted kill his wife.I thought the premise was brilliant and reminiscent of Patricia Highsmith's Strangers on a Train. However, I found the plot far-fetched and all the main characters (Ted, Lily, Miranda and Brad) unlikeable to the extent where I didn’t root for any of them. However, the suspense built up as the plot unfolded and this kept me turning the pages. The novel is well-structured and fast-paced and I loved Peter Swanson’s writing style. This was my first book by Peter Swanson and it will not be my last.

All good fun
This book is a murder romp, not a psychological thriller so don’t expect three dimensional characters, the whole point is what happens next. It’s written from a variety of points of view, none of them remotely likeable and for such a collection of sociopaths none of them seemed to have made enough of a connection to recognise a fellow traveller. Implausible plot populated with rich men and sexy women, what more can you ask for?
