Essential for car door cable locking mechanism
This set is essential for converting manual door lock to auto lock for cable lock system because it secures bare cable to door panel so that cable moves in straight line to enable locking motion. Without this bracket set cable wire moves freely losing the ability in pulling and locking mechanism. This bracket set misses a key part in securing the cables though, because the auto door lock set I purchased is designed for rod locking mechanism (otherwise there's no need for this separate bracket set) therefore the screw block is designed with larger diameter holes to hold on to locking rod instead of locking cable, I suppose this bracket set should also include screw block with smaller diameter holes to clamp on to cable securely. Anyway, a trip to Home Depot solved this issue with longer screws to secure cables inside the screw block.

If you are doing a Toyota power lock conversion these brackets are necessary to install the system.

Must have for newer Mazda manual locks
Used these to install automatic door locks on a 2006 Mazda 3 sedan. It seems that all the newer Mazda cars use a cable lock instead of a solid bar. Not a problem if it is a manual lock, but if you want to add an aftermarket power door lock, there is no place to attach the power actuator on a cable type lock. So you need this kit to lock the cable in place, cut off the outer jacket of the cable and attach the power lock actuator to the now exposed cable. There really is no way to do it without using this kit, and for the price, it is much eaiser than trying to make something yourself. After installing power locks in a cable lock system, I am not sure if I would ever want to do it again because of all the work involved. Although I did save about $500 over what a shop wanted to install them.

Works great perfect for manuel cable type door locks.
Did exactly what they are meant for. Helped use a rod style power lock actuator with a manuel cable type door lock.Obviously the power door lock actuator kit is not included, but this solves the problem for those who have a car with a manuel steel cable setup instead of the old standard steel rod.

Works for my car
I bought this for the Best Buy Geek Squad technician to install this in my car. What ever this is, it worked for my Toyota Yaris and is working in my car. Know what you're buying first and consult an expert or handy man before purchasing if you are not already one.

Exactly what you need if you have a cable lock system.
Exactly what I needed for my 2006 Toyota Tacoma. Didn’t come with any instructions and this was my first time installing power locks into a car with cables so I could’ve used some. However it’s fairly straightforward so not really necessary.

Got 'er done!
Got these to go along with an auto door lock kit we bought to convert our manual locks on our Corolla. They made the installation process much easier! Highly recommend if you are switching from manual to auto door locks and you have cable locks.
