Unfortunately not as good as previous version I had...

This ironing board and iron incorporated into one device was a new one on us. It took a while to set up and it quite heavy an bulky to manoeuvre despite it having castors. It does fold to about three times wider than a standard ironing board so you either need a room you keep it set up in or room to store it folded, we needed to rejig the utility a bit. Once set up it offers a blowing function to help release creases out of clothes as you iron them. There is also a vacuum function for specific fabrics to stop them sliding off the board. It does take a little longer than a standard iron to warm up so not so great when you want to just quickly iron one item. The standard of the finish is good and you don't have to repeatedly go over fabric so it definitely does the job. We were lucky enough to be sent this item to review but it is very expensive for an iron.

DESIGN ----------------- One thing that usually gets in my way while Ironing is the Steam Hose or Power Cable for simple pressing Irons. Not on the Lauraster. The Hose attaches to the Steam Hose Holder. The Steam Hose Holder is Flexible. You are able to Iron without the Hose bothering you as it is above the Ironing Board. The Holder bends to allow the Iron to reach the far end of the Ironing Board. Really clever. The water tank is very easy to remove and put back. The Blower and Vacuum mode of Ironing. In the Blower Mode, air is blown underneath the Ironing Board and if set at high, the Ironing Board Cover so it is raised from the board, reducing the chances of creating unwanted creases. There is a guide on Ironing modes, showing which one works well on what part of a clothing item. In the Vacuum mode, draws in the air so the clothes are held to the board so you can press in to create pleats like on a skirt. Using the App, I am able to control all these settings from the APP. The App shows what mode is activated and the intensity level. There are Tutorials including set up Instructions on the App. CLOUD OF STEAM ---------------------- This thing eats through creases with ease. I have used Steam Generators that are very good but this is in its class. The Iron has 2 Steam buttons on either side of the handle at the front. At first, I went overboard, pressing both and holding, producing an angry cloud of steam that threatened to burn my hands. I then eased on the steam buttons, only mostly short-pressing pressing one at a time. Wow, Steam-As-You-Go. After getting used to how it works, I was now pressing for as much steam as the garment required, using more steam for heavily wrinkled clothes. BYE BYE SHINY PATCHES ON DARK CLOTHES ----------------------------------------------------- I love using the Sole Plate Protector. I have some Dark Corduroy Jeans that get heavily wrinkled and when ironed become very shiny around the seams and pocket areas. You can even see where the pockets start and end by looking at the shiny outlines. Using the Soleplate Protector, I have been able to Iron these garments, removing all wrinkles without having those nasty shiny outlines! The Sole Plate is indispensable indeed. The Sole Plate is also very useful for delicates, clothes that would stick to the Iron. My Advanced Steam Generator, just forbid ironing of the delicates because it is a 'one-temperature' System so they have eliminated clothing that would stick to the Iron's sole plate. The Lauraster has an answer, delicates can be safely ironed. ULTIMATE IRONING MACHINE ------------------------------------ I have used many Advanced Steam Generators. I can't take anything from them. This is just in its own class. The attention to details in its design is remarkable. It is more than integrating an Iron with an Ironing board. Som nifty technology is packed into the entire system.

Very heavy duty steam iron, for professional use, for example a hotel or costume manufacturer or theatrical group or a very busy household! Or for someone that wants the ultimate in an iron (system). Most households probably couldn’t justify the cost but if you want the best, this is probably it. The steam generator is integrated into the ironing board set up with a completely remote. Bluetooth control and complete customisation ability, this is an iron for very heavy use and or ultimate control . highly recommended from a very reputable manufacturer .

If you are looking at this review then you have probably done your research into the Laurastar Smart M ironing system, because this would not be a spur of the moment buy. I will state the obvious anyway it is very expensive. But it does have some amazing attributes. Firstly it looks amazing, the only sleek neon my board I have ever owned. It is easy to set up and get going , and there is an easy to follow instruction book. In case you don't know the iron and the board are all one component. The iron is stored under the iron rest ,which fold out when using the iron. The iron is good weight , I found It easy to use and I have arthritis in my hand. The water tank fits into a black unit which is where all the on off buttons are. There is a hose holder for the steam hose, this is easily put down to store. The iron has a special plate to use on fine delicate materials, once again this is easy to put on the iron and easy to store. It goes out very high but is easy to lower . It folds up easily and has roller type wheels to move it . This is definitely needed as it is very heavy. So how does it perform , well I have to say it is AMAZING. I have never had such good results, my clothes look like brand new. The ironing board blows the ironing cover down and sucks it down which really improves the ironing process. I have linked it to my phone and I am still going through all the things it does. I love it and is it worth the high price tag, I have to say it's performance is amazing , I am not sure if I need the Bluetooth facility but I am not addicted to APPs , but very thing else is worth extra money . I know I have suddenly become very keen to do the ironing , not quite a joy to do the ironing but getting that way. I need to say that the steam on this iron is superb, what you get is steam not boiling water. Also it is easy to remove the sole plate even when you have just used it , as it can be removed without even touching it. I am sure every time i use it I will find something else that this ironing system does that ordinary irons just can't do.
