Bernat Super Value Yarn, 7 oz, Gauge 4 Medium Worsted, Black

This yarn has been a staple of my stash for many years. This was offered at an incredible deal and I am only too happy to add it to my collection. The 3 pack is enough to kit a large child's sweater and the color is so pretty. It is very soft and only gets softer after it is machine washed and dried. Yes, that's right. I love acrylic yarn because it can be machine washed on delicate and dried on low with beautiful results.

I always choose Bernat when it’s available. Softer than red heart super saver. Easier to get from Amazon. Price a bit higher but Spinrite/yarnspirations charges an arm and a leg for shipping. And it takes days or weeks before it arrives.

This is not super soft or silky soft. It’s basic yarn. If you need and can afford the silky stuff than I’d get that instead. I did make a scarf out of this, despite it being a bit scratchy. I live on a budget. And in the wintertime, I don’t give a dang about scratchy, I’d rather be warm when I’m outside shoveling. This is medium thickness. It is by no means chunky. I knew this when I bought this, so I bought two so I could double up the yarn as a crocheted it into my scarf. It turned out great. I was happy to find solid black in this budget line of yarn. Where I live, it’s almost impossible to find black yarn. There’s every shade of gray available, but black seems to be an endangered species of yarn out here.

I have yet to find a Bernat yarn that I don't like. I really like this light pink color that I got and it looks like they have a lot of great colors to choose from. It's a great worsted weight acrylic yarn that met all my expectations. It's easy to crochet with and doesn't seem to split easily. The skeins are a good size as well and the 3 pack is an awesome and convenient option. If you're looking for an inexpensive but high quality yarn, definitely give this one a try!
