when it was filled with water it didnt hold umbrella well..it kept flying out in low winds

I already had sand, which I added for my weight as I don’t like adding water but would be a cheaper and easier solution to empty after the season to move this. I like the handle on it which is simple but helpful. Be sure to make sure to buy the right size as important so you don’t have your umbrella floating away. Since it is made of plastic which has its advantages and disadvantages, the grip holding it down via a twist knob is also that which is my only concern long term. It is cheaper than the big box store, and better designed however which is why I would recommend this.

This product actually WARPED so it's useless. I guess it melted? (It's cheap plastic.) But I'm in Los Angeles, so it's not THAT hot, so it's really bad quality - and now it's wobbly and unstable and useless - it won't hold the umbrella-- it falls over. I only had it about 2 months. It's also pretty ugly and bulky. I wanted to return it because it was so huge and ugly, and mainly because it was hard to get the umbrella in it and they said I could return it, but then they want me to pay for shipping. It's huge, so the shipping and time and the pollution involved (box, padding, transportation) in returning a melted item that's useless is a waste plus it's more horrible plastic to go into the environment now! So DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY and TIME. I never leave reviews but wanted to warn people -- I've never bought such a bad product and had such a problem with returns either on Amazon before.

Does the job. Appears to be solidly made, very nice hard plastic that should last a very long time. We took this base (weighs very little when empty), filled it with water. Looks great, perfect fit under the patio table and it has held the umbrella perfectly for a few weeks now with heavy rain and wind.
