There is so much ginger in 5lbs! It will be a while before I need more! The flavor is spicy and ginger-y and wonderful. The ginger I received is cut with the grain rather than across the grain, which does affect the texture some. It is also slightly drier than the bulk ginger with preservatives that I have bought from the store before. It is also slightly darker. I tasted the darker and lighter pieces and the flavor is not affected by the color. The texture is also not at all like the Reed's brand ginger chunks which is very jelly-like. The only thing that would make them better is if they were cut across the grain rather than with. I am very satisfied with my purchase.Edit: I've been snacking on these for about a month and a half, and I am still happy with them. Since many of these are cut with the grain, the fibers are longer-ish, and sometimes stick in my teeth. Otherwise these are great, and the flavor is very potent. When I eventually run out, I'll probably buy these again.

That said, their crystallized and sugared ginger product is the bomb, to die for, the bee's knees, hot, spicy, flavorful and thoroughly, massively, addictive.Far from being just for snacking, this ginger can also be used in dishes as is, if you want a little sweet, or after soaking in water of you want to stick to savory only. As provided the product is soft and fresh, and we kept it that way by sealing in proper container (one gripe, truly minor, is the idiocy of the permeable plastic bag. Really?).Love it. Buy it. The ginger is fine.The package this afternoon was badly torn. I was not able to weigh it to ascertain whether there were any losses.The Package was not left inside the residence’s mailbox: it was left on the step outside the front door.There is a food safety issue in that the food was open to the air, insects, etc.

I’m very disappointed in what I got with my 5 pound bag of cristalice jinger, I buy this product often and this bag was very dried out like it was an old bag other times it’s been some where soft and there are dried one but not all I was going to return but it’s not returnable so I’m eating as is I will now never buy these 5 pounds grew up eating ginger now my children y my I will not anymore I buy the 5 pound because I was trying to save money I was going threw the1pounds in a week so I moved up to the 5 pounds to last threw out the month I injoy this much so do my kidsI’m so disappointed I wish I could’ve returned but couldn’t do I opened and eating as is hard to eat so dry I have dentures thanks for listening

Good quality product. Best off in a smoothie for me. Strong intense flavor… fresh. If you like ginger, I recommend.

The slices were nice and thin like I like them. It makes them less fiber-filled. But the hot, sharp ginger kick was too mild. Not like any ginger I have ordered before.
