Works well for taller people using string trimmers
OVERVIEW: I'm 6'1" tall, and I use a Stihl FS91R trimmer. Prior to purchasing the "Darwin's Grip" handle, I had moved the D-handle all the way up, right next to the strap holder (after I'd cut away and discarded the plastic hand grip thing that came with 91R). Still, I found myself bending over more than I wished. So I went in search of a solution, and I found the "Darwin's Grip." I do a fair bit of string trimming per week: 10+ hours every week on a hilly, rock-strewn property in West Virginia.SUMMARY: after about six hours of mowing with the Darwin's Grip, I find it is definitely what it advertises to be: a way to remain standing more upright as I use the trimmer. It is definitely a positive addition to my FS91R. I rate this a 5-star product.INSTALLATION: not that challenging. I heeded the advice to avoid over-tightening the hex bolts. I snugged them down, but I did not crank hard on the bolts. It wasn't necessary: snugged down is all that's needed to hold the thing in place.POSITIONING: as others have noted, this will take some fiddling with to get it right for your preferences. For example, the pictures showed the handle on top of the trimmer shaft, at the "12 o'clock" position relative to shaft as you hold the trimmer. I found it more comfortable on my left arm (I'm right handed: I trigger with right and use my left on the handle) to rotate the whole assembly to the left so the handle is at about the 10:30 or 11 o'clock position. Just that little bit helped quite a bit. Expect the initial install to be an approximation, with fine-tuning of position to follow. Also, some "muscle memory" my need to be re-learned to use the new handle naturally. For me that took about an hour.QUALITY/WEIGHT: the whole assembly is very light weight, and I don't notice any difference with my FS91R (14lb machine) with this installed. It seems fairly sturdy, but I would not jerk on the handle, nor push down on it hard. With just normal pressures to control the trimmer this should be just fine. As others have noted, the weak spot in this is the toothed-swivel that allows adjustment of the handle up/down from the trimmer shaft. Again, normal pressures and it'll be fine; aggressive jerking, or pushing down hard would be a problem.VALUE FOR MONEY: the item is $70+ with tax, and at first blush that seems high. But in my early testing of this I've discovered two things: (1) my back is no longer fatigued; and (2) because my back is no longer fatigued, I take fewer pauses, which means my mowing gets done more quickly. Preliminary estimates has the time savings in the 20% to 30% range. So, for me, the $70+ expenses is forgotten, and now I'm enjoying the benefits.

Connector missing from package.
Darwin’s grip would be great product if they had sent part to connect to weed eater. Was missing from package and haven’t had a response from the manufacturer. looks like product unavailable on Amazon at this time as well.Update. Called company and owner answered.Sent part out to me that day. This is a great product. Provided much relief for my back especially when using pole saw attachment.Highly recommend.

Original beats all!!
I made the mistake of ordering a cheap knock-off.. They do not come close to this original! Saving my back! The durability! The weight and comfortability is unmatched! Last one I had lasted 4 years of constant use and abuse. The cheap one broke in less than 2 months! Buy this one and you will never buy any other one!!

Save your back
Great product. Well built. Not knocking that. It’s very comfortable when you have a straight line of weed eating. But if you have to go around obstacles, I find that it’s hard to control the trimmer head with the Darwin grip. It’s helpful for weed eating a ditch and hillsIt is definitely a product to have as a second option pending on the yard you servicing on.

Back saver!
This handle makes weed eating easy! I always hated weed eating because I'm short and holding the weed eater at an awkward angle makes my back and biceps hurt. Once I added the Darwin Grip, all of my problems went away. It's easy to install and just as easy to adjust for different users. I recommend it to all of my friends!

Let’s do it standing upright
This should be the standard handle for string trimmers. I live in mountainous area and can now trim driveway 600’ in length without horrible back pain. The emblem on the side of the handle showing man gradually beginning to walk upright is perfect for this handle as it depicts how The operator of the trimmer feels with this handle addition. Great product

Stop wasting time and just buy it.
First off I was leary of buying one of these years ago. I'm happy I did. We run 6-8 weedeaters a day and all of my guys love them. No issues with failure. Backs and shoulders feel better at the end of the day and you have more range of motion with them. My guys have even cut there time down on weedeating because of range of motion. If your on the fence about getting one don't be. You'll love it.

Mounting bracket.
I originally chose this company because I was referred by a friend who also has the same one. I like that you can change the angle on this one to adjust to your need. I like the product and design. However, the mounting bracket is low quality. I Broke the piece just tightening it down to the handle. I didn’t even tighten it too tight either. Just snug enough so the handle wasn’t loose. Disappointed in the quality of the bracket. I expected better and a high quality handle for $60.
