ComfyMed Premium Quality Back Brace CM-102M with Removable Lumbar Pad for Lower Back Pain Relief (LGE 38"-50" Belly)

Usually I like to wait a few weeks of trial before I review a product. I have 2 herniated discs in the L4-S1. And a compression fracture. I am not a surgical candidate and have managed this with a brace. During a recent move my brace got "mislaid" and I have not located it yet. Before moving to a "motorized wheelchair or scooter" I decided to try this brace after weeks of being in pain and reading that this works on herniated and bulging discs and sciatica. When walking I generally feel as if my hips and spine are not connected along with sciatica down both legs. Today when I received this I tried it on. I finally took it off and it has made a world of difference for me. It has provided the stability like my old brace from the physical therapist used to. I was able to do some walking and standing with this brace on without the feeling of "separation" of hips and spine. I was able to do more walking and standing than I have in months (since I lost my old brace). It is comfortable when worn properly. I am so glad I found this brace. It is really affordable compared to the cost for a new brace from the physical therapist.I think it is wonderful that they contacted me before the brace arrived to make sure I understood how to wear it and to let me know if I had any questions or concerns I have a contact person.

This is my 3rd back brace, the first being inadequate and the second being a Futuro that was adequate but became inadequate as my lower back got worse. I find the ComfyMed has an excellent width that covers me from about L5/S1 to perhaps T1/T2 supporting my whole lumbar sacral spine. The support is firm and can be made very firm. It is comfortable and I can easily wear it for the maximum time recommended. I find the removable lumbar pad can be easily adjusted to give additional support to the specific area that hurts the most. I'm grateful to have found this. I will admit that it smelled pretty strongly of warm plastic (?) when removed from the package but that was resolved to a great extent by washing and airing before wearing. I anticipate that the second washing will resolve the odor issue completely. I am 71 years old, am 6'2'' tall, weigh 226 lbs, and have experienced lower back pain, at times disabling, since age 22. I wish I'd found this brace decades ago, if it had been made back then.

Having problems w lumbar disc and nerve issues. This provided some relief for acute issues, made it possible for me to go to work (tech job, not physically demanding). As physical therapy helps me improve, I use this when seated, standing, or walking at work, 8-10 hours a day (removing it every 2-3 hours). I removed the lumbar insert, as I found it uncomfortable for the sensitive area; should be fine for regular support. It also helped me be more comfortable while standing for most of the day, but it does not totally prevent discomfort from underlying issues.This is not sexy, but it is cool, light, and comfortable. The front flap is wide enough to stay put even when seated, but it will slide a bit or fold, especially if you have a gut.

I've been riding the Long Island Railroad to and from work since 1980, and it's finally catching up with me by affecting my lower back, causing a painful sciatica problem. It was so bad I had trouble walking when I got off the train, my legs were so stiff and painful from sitting on the train for over an hour, and I had to walk very slowly. I bought this brace and wore it yesterday, just on the train in the a.m. and p.m., resulting in a great reduction in pain. I could walk freely and although I wouldn't say I could run a marathon, I was able to walk at a brisk, normal pace and descend a long staircase at the train station without gritting my teeth in pain. The brace also supported my back while driving my car. I am 5'2' and weigh 165 - I bought the large and it fits fine and felt comfortable. However, I imagine in the really hot humid weather it will be a relief to take it off. The directions tell us to only wear it for 3 hours at a time, anyway, and wash it after 3 or 4 wearings. I will be buying another one soon to alternate..

I ordered this back brace because it was recommended it to me by a caregiver. I have a 92 year old mother with dementia and mobility issues, this brace has really helped me with moving her and my back is so much better than before I started using it. I find that also after a long day, I can put ice on my back and lightly use the brace to hold it in place with blessed relief. My advice is to use it before you need it and it will protect you as well as give relief for aches and pains at the end of the day. I like it so much, I'm ordering another for another family member who helps with Mom's care. Very comfortable and easy to put on and take off

There is no doubt that this back brace offers support and helps relieve pain and pressure. Like all braces, it's not terribly cool or comfortable to wear but it does get the job done. I have no complaints in that department.But the sizing descriptions are a little off. I'm obese enough that my usual pant size is 1X, although some XL will fit me. For comfort, I sometimes wear 2X but they are loose on me. The large size of this brace (which I ordered) says that it covers XL to 4XL so I thought I would have some flexibility as to how tight I wore it. The brace fits me, but just barely. Pulling tight, there is only an overlap of only a couple of inches on the main velcro closure. Since there is so little play, I cannot choose how tight to wear it, it has to go on tight. So, for a person even larger than I am--someone who is usually 2X or above--this will probably not fit or be so tight you can't breathe.

This is the best back brace i have tried. Comfortable and looks nice too, considering its a back brace.I bought several, in case its discontinued.
