Excellent all rounder
I needed a small screen to use with various devices that I own.I have a number of laptops, a Raspberry Pi and an ASUS Tinkerbox. This screen was inexpensive and seems to offer a simple way to connect to these devices.Upon opening the box, the screen is lightweight but solid and well made. The bezel in not obtrusive and it's great that there is no printed logo on the front as this would spoil the ascetic look in my opinion. Just a single red LED which turns blue power indicator. The screen comes with a number of leads to enable one to hook-up to the Raspberry Pi and other mini computers. Also included is a short HDMI to HDMI lead which was great for connecting to a standard laptop. This lead is usually not included with other comparable screens, so this was a nice extra. The screen was easy to connect to a laptop I was currently using for work. Just two leads. The HDMI and a USB lead.Next I tried my Tinkerbox mini computer. This again connected with no issues. I used the touch screen port on the back of the Elecrow screen and now I was able to use touch to control the Tinkerbox cursor. The larger screen and the higher resolution made the Tinkerbox much more useful than the smaller screens available on the market. It was time to try out the Raspberry Pi. This again connected with ease. The display was bright and clear. The touch control was snappy and responsive. I like the fact that a Pi can be attached to the rear of the screen to make a much more compact device. An adaptor plate and fixing kit including small standoffs are also included to help accomplish this. The built-in speaker is loud enough to be useful and is a welcome addition to the features. On screen display is accessed at the rear of the screen. The menu is intuitive and has a good range of options. The screen itself can be wall mounted or desk mounted using the small supplied stand. My only slight issue is that the viewing angle is a little steep for some things so some sort of adjustment would be great. However, there are many aftermarket stands available so in reality this would not be a concern. The screen has a Kensington lock slot which is good as I work in art. If this screen is used in an exhibition, then it would be good to secure it against theft.I did like the fact that the screen was powered by the host device over 5v USB. This eliminated the need for a bulky separate power adaptor.Overall this screen is great value and the fact that it works with all the devices I have tried it with, makes it very useful for me when I need a small extra screen.

The short cables for Raspberry Pi mounting were not present
The device seemed OK but when I came to mount my Raspberry Pi I found that the wrong cables were fitted. i.e. very long cables and not as advertised, short cables, to allow neat fitment of Raspberry PI on the back on the monitor. Very disappointing, so I had to return for a refund. However, I repurchased this as I was quite impressed with it. I also discovered from the supplier that short cables do not fit properly and are no longer supplied. Apparently the advert has now been corrected .

Ideal for CCTV usage too
Bought to have a smaller screen on a CCTV NVR and works perfect for this. Powered from the USB port on the NVR, would be ideal if it would remember if you'd muted the screen when turning it back on but it's only 1 button on the back.

Avoid if you have Raspberry PI - doesn't work
No Instruction manual to help - advertises as compatible with Raspberry PI but doesn't work - I have a Pi4 and this screen is rubbish, with now instructions

Easy to set up for my requirement.
I used this on a raspberry pi 2b so haven’t used the touchscreen facility. The display is reasonably bright and detailed. My experience so far has been positive.

Got to use with Aida64 as an external sensor display
As the subject suggests, I was expecting this to be a matter of plug and play. But alas... Simply connecting this display to power and HDMI on my computer, instantly turns it into a stuttering, glitchy mess. I have no idea why and tried many things to fix it, even enabling my iGPU to use as an external display, this causes even more issues with this display. IMO, this shouldn't be connected to anything but a raspberry Pi, which I'm sure it is fine for, but as a generic HDMI display, it's useless. I tested a small samsung display to see if that would cause the stuttering with my PC, and it didn't, it's just this display. Btw, I have a new PC, 3090 Ti, 64gb DDR5, i7 12700K.Edit: I'm changing my review slightly, although I ideally wanted this connected directly to my PC, I had a Raspberry Pi 3 knocking about, so decided to use it with Aida64 as a a remote sensor display and for that purpose, it works great.

With Rpi3B+
Raspberry Pi 3B+. Works well with almost anything the Rpi does. The cramped headphone socket is a problem, but at least does work without a reset. Nice finish. I used it unmounted first. No problem, but I like the idea of a backmounted SBC. I had to ditch the Rpi case and my homemade Pifan fitting. But it is so much easier to use pins when there is no case. But I hotglued the fan case to its two pins, so it sat directly over the heatsink. It worked better than before. Great monitor for people who are constantly tinkering with Rpi stuff.
