My Second Jar...
So happy with this glass jar! Love that it's made in the USA. Durable, high quality, very easy to use.

Surprisingly heavy duty, love the handles and lid
Our old fridge doesn't provide cold drinking water, but our well water is delishious (if a bit hard, and the drinking filter runs super slow) so we fill up a couple glass jugs of water to keep in the fridge and alternate. Its nice in the summer to have ice cold water anytime you're thirsty. But, one of our Pyrex jugs broke finally after almost a decade of use (the glass was crazy thin - suprised it took as long as it did). Instead of straight up replacing the pyrex jug, I opted for this brand because I like the lid and handle and figured, why not?I am really glad I did. The lid fits snugly on the mouth of the jug, sealing out weird fridge flavors. The little handle around the neck is very handy for grabbing from the fridge door easily. The handle grip thats divoted into the body of the jar makes it easy to pour. The glass is very thick and sturdy. And a regular bottle brush fits in the mouth easily and reaches everywhere it needs to for washing. We don't own a dishwasher besides our own hands, so I can't speak to how well the plastic conponents would hold up, though I honestly would not try it - I think the plastic would melt. But its easy and quick to wash up.My only mild criticism is that the jug isn't a little bigger. So it only fills about two big Yeti insulated water cups before having to be refilled. So if you are considering a similar system to ours, get at least 2 of these jugs.Alternately, the rectangular body fits well in the fridge, and having it a little more compact means more fridge space, so... Silver lining, right? When the last pyrex jug shatters (any day now) we are definitely buying another one of these milk jugs as a replacement. They are fantastic!

Works perfectly for my iced tea needs
I was using plastic half gallon bottles to put ice tea in for my drinking source, The plastic was hard to clean, attracted mold growths and my wife hated them and constantly reminded me hoe aseful they were. So, I searched for a glass solution, read lots of reviews and settled on these bottles as the best choice. Per reviews, they did not break easily (others did), they were easy to clean. I could not purchase extra caps and they were expensive compared to other choices. I purchased 4 of these and make 4 half gallons of tea at a time using 2 tea bags which lasts me a few days and costs a few pennies per drink. The wife loves em, the bottles would probably not break if I dropped them on the floor, and there isno mold, ever.Worth every penny and I may buy 2 more,The only issue is the caps. If one breaks, I am SOOL.

Milk just tastes sooooo good from these awesome milk bottles!!
I love to keep milk ice cold in glass bottles. A friend had found some at Michaels with the cow on it, but it was only a 1 qt bottle. After doing some research, I found that the ones my friend bought with the metal screw on lids would grow black mold due to moisture in the lids. GROSS. We usually drink at least 3 gallons of milk each week, so I purchased 6 of these milk bottles from The Dairy Shoppe, I also purchased a 6pk of replacement lids. To clean I put a little Dawn in, add hot water, turn my bottle brush upside down, put a thin cloth around the end of handle, stick all the way down and clean the bottoms. I've also just rinsed and put in dishwasher with the lid too, in order to sterilize, and the bottles come out squeaky clean! We needed 6 of these, and use them daily multiple times!! I have two with the handles, and 4 without. I prefer the ones without a handle. As a cool side note; I have two very very old milk bottles from the olden days. Both had cardboard tops. The replacement lids from The Dairy Shoppe fit on one of my antique milk bottles, it reads Meadow Gold Milk in red on both sides of the bottle. It is a 1 qt. so when we get low, I pour the antique bottle full and use a new lid, looks so cute in our frig!! Everyone compliments us on how cool our glass milk jugs look. LOVE LOVE LOVE them!! Just like the good ole days....when life was so much simpler.

could've washed it first
I like these jars for storing milk so I came back and bought a second one. It arrived today and clearly has been used and does not appear to have been cleaned very well after There were large deposits of milk stone inside the container, it was damp and smelled a bit mildewy when opened. Also the seal for the cap was missing. I rechecked the description here and could not find any indication that these are used glasses and indeed the previous one I bought appeared to be new and clean. That said, I still rate this fairly highly because they are very nice jars that keep my (goat) milk tasting fresh for several days. They are easy to pour from, easy to clean and the glass is very thick making the jars sturdy and durable. I like the grippy part on the side which allows me to handle the jars with wet hands without it slipping. I took off 1 star just because I think they should have cleaned the old milk out thoroughly before sending it.

Great Glass Bottle
Wanted to make my own cultured buttermilk. It exceeded my expectations. Thick glass, built in grip making easy to grap/lift & pour. Comes with a very nice snap on lid & handle. I forgot how much colder glass keeps the liquid. Perfect milk bottle. But thinking about the cost, I realized I could go to my local store, purchase a local diary bottle of milk, pay the bottle deposit & keep it for a lot less.
