As beautiful IRL as in the pictures. Allow about four hours and two people to put it together.
Whenever I buy furniture to assemble, particularly a complicated item like this desk, I always worry about the instructions not being clear, or they're being missing parts, or the holes not lining up, etc. etc. etc. thankfully, this was not at all the case with this beautiful desk. I had searched long and hard for a desk that would match the rest of my mission style furniture in my home, and would generally just look prettier than the vast majority of office desks. Finally finally finally I found this one. My friend and his son assembled it yesterday… It took them about 3 1/2 hours or so, and they said that they ran into no problems. You do want to be careful not to poke it, because the finish is a little bit sensitive. But the good news is that there's so much black in the finish, that a black sharpie takes care of a "poke" without anyone noticing. Also, if the left return of the desk is not quite deep enough for you (as it wasn't for me), I bought two Hoobro sofa tables (see link bellow) to put behind the left return Desk (and thereby extend its depth by 9 inches). These sofa tables match the desk finish virtually identically, and the height of the sofa tables line up perfectly with the desk…particularly once you use the sofa tables' height-adjusting feet. And bonus… The sofa tables each have an electrical outlet and two USB ports which come in very handy when you're putting them near an office desk.Highly highly highly recommend.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BS3TV521?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Great desk, watch closely on delivery comments.
My Sauder desk was assembled for me by family. It is a 2 person job. Took a number of hours. It is sturdy and attractive. It was missing the bottom part to the deep drawer but I went on their site, entered information requested with model and part number. It was shipped free to me in a few days. Very pleased with Sauder. Only issue was in tracking it said it was damaged and would try to deliver anyway. I saw this and cancelled my order. Well I a got a call from the delivery company they would be at the house in ten minutes. I said I cancelled it as it was damaged! They asked if I wanted it or not. Well I took it as box had a small tear but desk was not damaged and was fine. Main issue is getting the exact desk I ordered from another company cancelled, since I thought mine was cancelled from Sauder as being said it was damaged. Well it all worked out well. Second desk cancelled in time before delivery and credit card refunded. In the end love my new L Shape desk.

Nice desk but DRILL and weight limit warning!
This desk is cute and very nice at least for the 400'ish bucks I spent.I only really have two issues with it.First and mostly important, the weight limit didn't seem to be posted on Amazon, kinda obscure in the instruction manual but feels heavily padded or very low.... The left section was/is rated up to 60lbs I think with the right section being rated for 40lbs, I use SEVERAL displays on vesa mounts with everything in the corner, right now I am at 70lbs in the corner roughly across both sections and this is only 3 of my displays.... I would like to see it be able to hold more.Next... I was not expecting to need a drill... Since the left and right side (drawers vs cabinet) are depending on how you assemble it, 4-6 of the holes in each of these sections need to be drilled out by the end user. Sauder Carson should have pre-drilled these holes and just included plugs for each sections un-used holes. It was pretty easy to install/build, took most of the day for me but I am out of practice. I do wish the instruction location was labeled on the outside of the boxs as I had to unpack both boxes first just for find them. It all comes down the the weight limit/sturdiness that is the biggest issue, I would have willingly spent another 100 bucks if I knew it supported double the limits in the instruction book.

Excellent desk and great price!
I love this desk! It is spacious and keeps all of my various stuff well organized. It is perfectly situated to allow me to look out and not at a wall! My whole office has changed by the placement of this desk and I love having all of the work room. Excellent quality and craftsmanship.

An Exercise in Absurdity
The desk appears nice and is quite large, as advertised, but more or less everything else about it is absurd. I had two friends help me 'build' the desk, which still felt lacking. Do not buy if you are planning to build this alone, especially considering the packages (there are two separate boxes) are about 100 pounds altogether. If you mess up even one step you could make the desk unbuildable. The anchors do not automatically 'lock' and we had two lock/ expand after the part had moved, meaning that we had to try and remove the anchor, cutting away the plastic, and removing it; there are also no extra parts. One of these anchors actually caught the particle board as the board it was attached to came out of the part it was supposed to be bonded to, causing it to completely tear the surrounding area. The backing panels for the drawer and cabinet are incredibly thin, being held in with tiny 0.5" nails. These were also not cut correctly and were not square, meaning that on both there are gaps where you can see particle board. The panels at the corner of the desk (where a good amount of the 'structure' comes from) are easy to screw up as there are no marked locations for drilling. Even if you do this, good luck holding it into position without it moving and having a 0.5" gap.If you are extremely careful and want to spend a Saturday building this with a friend, perhaps this is a good fit, otherwise, I would look elsewhere.
