Genuine Land Rover Towing Trailer Hitch Receiver LR040248 for LR3, LR4, and Range Rover Sport

I have 2012 Range Rover sport and it fit perfect!! It was a little hard to get on in beginning. Make sure you have the key turned the correct way to pull the pin all the way back before inserting. Other than that it works GREAT!!!

It’s genuine and brand new, but god they are expensive. Oh well, it’s cheaper than other places, but if I weren’t paranoid I would get it used.

From reading some of the comments with the key issue’s you have to make sure you slam it up in the hitch frame don’t just lightly slide it up there. That top plunger pin needs to be pressed all the way in. Then you can remove the key with ease. Once you turn it into the lock position. Very nice came with extra key. Again fit very well.

Did not come with instructions but this hitch worked great. A similar hitch did not quite fit my car however the second adapter that was shipped fit perfectly. The key does not release from the adapter until the adapter engages with your receiver.

Paid full Land Rover price for this item and it arrived on time. I noticed it was just thrown in a box with no extra key, instructions, or wrapping. Because I had one previously, I tested if it would seat and lock. Once I did, the key plastic fell off. So I placed it back on and attempted to unlock the key. It would not budge. After turning and twisting several times, it unlocked. But the key would not come out. I finally yanked on it and it broke inside the body of the lock like it was made of plastic. This has never happened and I believe this was a defective-returned item that was then listed on Amazon for sale.

The hitch worked fine but the only thing I would say is when it arrived the packaging was damaged and the key was bent. I was able to bend it back and it worked but I might try and change the way I package it for future customers. Other than that it has been installed and works
