Finish Scent Liquid Gel, Orange Fresh, 75 Ounce

So far, I really like this dishwashing soap! I decided to make the switch from pods after noticing a buildup in my dishwasher, and I’m happy to report that this liquid soap has been a great alternative. It does a great job of getting the dishes clean without leaving behind any film or residue, which is something I had struggled with using pods.The soap itself has a nice consistency and seems to rinse away easily, leaving everything sparkling clean. Even tougher, stuck-on food comes off without much effort, and I feel like my dishes are truly fresh when the cycle is done. It’s also gentle on my dishwasher, which gives me peace of mind knowing I’m not causing long-term issues with buildup or clogs.The bottle is generously sized, so I expect it to last quite a while—definitely a good value for the price. I also appreciate the simplicity of the packaging and the fact that I can measure out exactly how much I need, which helps cut down on waste.Overall, I’m really happy with this purchase and plan to continue buying it. It’s affordable, effective, and a great alternative for anyone looking to move away from pods and toward a more reliable and cleaner dishwashing solution.

I have been using other name, brand dish, dishwashing detergents all my life. This is the first time I’ve tried this brand and I am very impressed and will not be using anything else but this from now on. I don’t care what the commercial say about the other stuff because this particular one works better than anything in my opinion.

Exactly how dishwashing works

The dishes get clean, there’s a little film left on the glasses, top rack. It’s been like that with this brand and cascade. I have yet to try seventh generation.

When I moved into this condo, my landlord required that I use this brand in the dishwasher. I switched to the gel and I absolutely love it compared to the liquid.

Horrible stuff. It left a white flakey almost cellophane like particles on the dishes and on the bottom of the dishwasher. It left a white film on the dishes. I even tried washing them twice in a row which only made them worse. I had to run the dishwasher without dishes to try to clean it and still there was some left over residue. The mesh filter at the bottom of the dishwasher was clogged with this white stuff and took a good brushing to wash off. I DO NOT recommend this product.

Take a look at the label. Finish sure spends a lot of time telling you to buy their pods instead. They even use a “Good, Better, Best” messaging where their liquid gel detergent isn’t even “good.” Well, this gel detergent isn’t really awful, but it sure isn’t the best one I’ve tried. With liquid/gel dishwasher detergents there is the inevitable trade off where you have to choose either bleach or enzymes, because those two substances are not stable together in a liquid. Finish went with bleach here, so no enzymes for you. The result I’ve observed is that this liquid detergent barely does its main work.Given a bad experience I had with Finish rinse aid, I’ve decided to not bother with their products anymore. I left this gel bottle in a corner of our building trash room, in case someone else wanted to give it a try. I am finished with Finish.
