Large, intimidating knife - great for big hands
This knife really impressed me, especially for the price. I'm 6'3" with big hands, so I wanted a large knife and this thing is perfect. It also made me the envy of all the men in my family when I took it to a family event, who were all fascinated by the quality and way it folds/locks. I included a photo of it open to show size, and nearly closed to make it more obvious how it open and closes because I was a little confused when first viewing this online — the little piece folds into the handle and acts as the lock, then folds out to house the blade. The 440C stainless steel and rosewood handle are very nice, although my blade had a minor scratch on it out of the package that I can't buff out, and it's nearly impossible to keep fingerprints off it, but those are minor compared to the awesomeness of this knife. I don't use it for heavy-duty rope-cutting, so I can't speak for it's long-term durability but it seems solid.I was hoping to carry this with me daily, but it's honestly just too intimidating to justify carrying this thing around as standard pocket knife, and it is big enough that it sticks out or is pretty obvious there's a giant knife in your pocket. It's a big red flag/attention grabber. That's not really the fault of the knife, just worth mentioning in case others are considering it for that purpose. Case seems fine and has a belt loop, so it might be handy for people that work on farms, etc. that don't need to worry that it's too big to carry around. The only really downside I see is that the piece that folds out to house the blade is a bit more flimsy than the rest of the blade, so I'm hoping it doesn't become a factor down the road. Not terrible, but flimsy enough that I'm not sure you could use that end to break glass in an emergency, but the handle is solid enough you could likely use the other, flat end.If you're looking for an impressive blade to show off to friends and make yourself feel safe, this is as good of an option as I can imagine.

Better than expected
really sharp blade. Also fit and finish is superb. Fits into the supplied sheath easy and is more compact than a fixed blade.

IT IS a DIFFERENT KIND OF KNIFE ... one caution and otherwise FANTASTIC
This is a very unique knife. Some reviews caution you can easily cut yourself upon closing it; and that is VERY ACCURATE CAUTION. But like most risks: if you know it and take note and use care accordingly the risk is very manageable. The closing issue is it takes a little pressure to close the blade back fully and you need to BE SURE you hold the back side (not sharp side) of blade carefully and not get fingers in way as it closes and not stick yourself with sharp point in closing. This just requires EXTRA CARE and MINDFULNESS every time you close it, and it's not hard (as long as you remember and use that care). BEYOND THAT this is a perfect knife (so far; just got it but think it will perform/last fine and work well for me.FACTS: 1. Case: I disagree with those negative comments on the case; it is fine and has a very effective strap that snaps over and VERY SECURELY holds knife in the very decent case. 2. Weight and Size: It is NOT a LIGHT WEIGHT KNIFE, but it is a big knife and solid hence some weight. This is NOT a problem in general, so long as you don't want to pocket carry it (which is NOT my intention, so fine by me). 3. NOT a good self defense knife in sudden emergency. It is a MANUAL Blade that opens in 2 steps (opens to 90 degrees and cllck stops and them continues on to 18o degrees and clicks again and lock into a straight, open blade. NO button or spring to open (manual, slow opening). 4. The blade is LONG-- this is the beauty of this knife! It is essentially 3 parts: the case, the blade and a fold in/fold out blade extension receptor. The fold in/fold out blade tip receptor covers (very effectively/safely) the last few inches of blade WHEN it is closed up; otherwise the blade, when closed, would be protrude a few inches longer than the main hard case, so that extended blade needs to be covered when putting it back in case; this functions well and seems very solid and effective and is VERY UNIQUE feature). 5. Case Fit: After opening up the blade end cover, such that it. is over the blade of the last few inches, you must put it in the case in proper manner such that the tab that snaps over it covers and holds the knife VERY SECURELY in case. NOTE: Mine had NO INSTRUCTIONS with it, but was easy for me to figure out ... but I added these details since mine came w/o instructions and might help others to figure out this VERY UNIQUE big knife, that folds down to compact size and a secure carry case. For my wants (longer blade than normal pocket knife, yet compact for easier carry than most long knives) it is perfect. I would NOT use it for an emergency self defense knife OR for a pocket carry knife ... it's more of a full sized knife when opened up). It's excellent if your needs are right for it; it is very solid, operates smoothly and works very well ... if you need/want a LONGER blade knife that can fold up and be carried is secure case. I think the size of blade and weight specs are listed on Amazon description. It is a big, solid knife when opened up.

Incredible for the money
I was so curious about this , I just had to order one. I was looking for something like this when I first started collecting knives about 20 years ago--a 6" blade that is pocket-able. The quality is quite good for the price. Made in China which is a cut above Pakistan in my view. I have no trouble opening and closing it safely. Of course it is not one hand operation--come on. The tip guard is uncomfortable when folded to lock the blade, but you can use it with the guard open-- the blade is pretty secure without it. The case seem good quality to me. Nice wood scales. 5/32" blade thickness. Reasonably sharp out of the box. 440C SS. The tip guard is strong enough in extended position. I had a hard time justifying buying this for just a collection item, so I decided I would keep it in my glove box to have in the car. Blade is 5 3/4".UPDATE: I discovered that one of the screws holding the bolster was stripped. Fell right out when I tapped it on my desk. I applied to return it as defective. Amazon credited me the price and said not to send it back. I've glued the screw back in with superglue, but don't know how well it will work. Reducing rating to 3 stars.NOTE: The book that comes with it is a PDF and is written in the most broken English imaginable. The content doesn't seem very worthwhile either.
