A Precision Built Monster
For the price, you won't find a more solid built knife. This thing has ZERO JIGGLE, ZERO PLAY, NO LOOSE COMPONENTS. A common failure point is the clip which on most knives rattles after a few months of use. I've been using mine everyday and it has yet to develop play or warping. The coating on the handle and blade is top class, I have yet to scrape it at all. The dang blade is stupid sharp out the gate and easy to maintain sharp. When I bought this knife I was skeptical of having a manual flicker become I had used an assisted open knife for a year and loved it. The action on this knife is so good I don't miss the spring action of my knife at all.I wouldn't recommend using this knife for heavy tasks like wood chopping or holding your bodyweight (or whatever silly metric TikTok will try to convince you your pocket knife should be equal to an axe or ice pick...).No, this thing is an utra slim, precision built monster of a knife that is so comfortable to carry I place it in skinny jeans and forget about it immediately. It has about the same thickness as a modern smartphone so it doesn't interfere with sitting/squatting/jumping etc.Don't look for those cheap Chinesium knives that are built super flimsy and with weak actions and paper thin plastic handles.Get yourself this all metal, spec ops consulted, lovingly engineered beaut. For the price it's a no brainer, I can tell this will be my main knife for a several years to come.

Fantastic EDC
I'm not a small guy (6' 2" tall) and have large hands. This fits my grip very well. Deploys very easy and reliable and cuts nicely. Glad to have it a as my EDC for a fair price.

Gentleman's Tactical blade
I guess I lucked out. The action is good (not as good as my Civivi on bearings, but how can it be? Its not on bearings!). Blade came very sharp, centering was perfect, No issues with fit and finish. The handle is bit too thin for real heavy work, but its good enogh for edc stuff, I guess. It feels nimble in my large lengthy fingers. But it is a tad harsh on your hand, if you fidget a lot with it. It carries very nicely, being slender and all. Did change the clip position (was easy to do).I really like this knife. Good steel, looks great and the fact that its on washers is actually a plus for me. I don't like the idea of dropping it in dirt and having the bearings get all messed up.I would say its one of the best $50 knives out there.Update: took this knife on a 4 week backpacking trip. No heavy use but in my leg pocket of my hiking pants the entire time. The part that came to contact with my leg, the handle did discolor a bit (see photos). No big deal but know that it does fade. I really liked how slender and light it was. One of my favorite edc knife. Highly recommend for light use.

My 1st week with the M16-03Z - Looks meaner than the picture!!
First off i want to say - that those who are using these for (God I hate this term) EDC knives are incorrect. It is a thrusting and slashing "Weapon."(Every Second Carry - BeeHatch!) Sure - it's sharp, and it will do your minor tasks - but the spear-point plain blade is for easy in/out piercing of an assailant. (very light construction - prefer 16-14's for slashing and hacking) I ride a bicycle in a rowdy town, and this thing gives me the confidence to take my 110 pound butt back and forth to work. When i'm working - i prefer a serrated edge. I also like a thick blade - this one tapers off. It still has a wide (damn-can't remember the word) reverse fuller, but it's a thin blade for piercing "Flesh."One of the reviewers stated that it doesn't sit flush in the pocket - that is true, but i'm wearing it specifically at night as a deterrent and don't give a rats about "Flush." It only has a two position clip for right and left handers - but seriously - let me break this down for you. These clips can be mounted for left handed carry - but really - no matter what - "I" cannot close these Carson M's one handed (instantly) without using my pant-leg, or the in-animate object i was cutting. This doesn't mean it's not possible, (anal readers) i personally can't do it, (instantly) and that makes alot of these clip positions (HA) kindof a joke!! Am bummed about the non-blade-up position. Doesn't match the other Carsons that i can pull and open instantly. So that's a tactical downer. Still love it for it's thrusting and awesomely long plain blade. I have a 4" M16-14D blade, and none of it's Tanto+ edges are 3.5" long!! Best knife for $34 - just don't expect it to be your ultimate Every Second Carry knife.(Stay away from the CR8MOV14 metals in the Carson line - unless you enjoy constant re-honing) There was some dispute - whether this was Aus4 or Aus8 - www.CRKT.com claims it's Aus8. Don't care - It's sharp - it's blade is longer than expected - and it stays sharp like my M16-14D Desert Big Dog. Don't get me wrong i like my SK5 and 1095 blades for hard shnit, but my Aus8 and 1055 steels keep an edge longer!Oh-yeah-I almost forgot - two little issues. 1st off - the jimping on the thumb of the blade and the guard/flipper isn't as pronounced as other Carsons. Feels like it's coated with plastic or some kind of gloss. I will be filing mine out for extra grip. (Having a glossy grip is kindof stupid with this light Zytel handle - but then again none of the Carsons fully nail everything) Also, and i don't know if it's just mine, or if it will wear in through time - but this thing seems to hang whilst closing. Will let you know in a few weeks, when i do or do not return it!! All that and the (fraudulent) clip design makes it 4-stars!! Really wanted to give it five...and i still might! Fraudulent might be a little harsh - but left handers - Good MF luck. I'm not left handed - but - i would have returned every CRKT with Autolawks if i was!!I am overly critical - I am "DJ Analysis" - I pick apart everything. Not stating opinions - Straight up facts! That doesn't mean this isn't a 5 Star knife for you!! All you right handers - buy it - buy it now and add a little oil to the open/close mechanism.
