This bag is the same exact one I used in the military. I was Air Force combat security police, Air Bas Ground Defense from '79 to '83. Woke up one morning on the side of a mountain with 6 inches of snow on us after tracking another team during an exercise. Never knew it snowed, got out, rolled 'em up and moved to our next point. EXCELLENT bag, they do not tear, there is no smell to them, they are BRAND NEW.Even if just your electricity should go out at your house in the winter, your family will be warm and secure, same thing traveling in your car. Throw it in the back, good to go.

This is the first sleeping bag I've gotten that truly keeps me warm on cold winter/spring/fall camping trips. I also like the material it is made from, as it is so much easier to roll up than those made of slippery material. I am 6' 190lb and it fits me about perfectly...if you're much taller or thicker, you might have trouble fitting in it.

Sleeping bag looked used but it was bought new I think this item was made a very long time ago and was sitting in stock for quite sometime however it didn't have anything wrong with it and is definitely warm I think that it was priced too high for the quality of this item. I bought it as a gift for one of my sons who really wanted this item but it isn't something that I would buy for myself.

I must say that this bag is very warm if your worried about being cold with this bag you don't have to worry I've owned mine for 8 years and the only modification I have done is add the woodland camo waterproof bivy bag with it I'm not worried about getting it wet in the wintertime for me personally I don't mind the weight as a good night's sleep being warm is priceless as an investment in my own sleeping system to find something that will do the same temperature range as well as this one is so far I have yet to find one.Although I got mine from a surplus store years ago for $60 I wouldn't trade it for anything else

I am 68 years old and have been using military sleeping bags since I was eleven years old in Boy Scouts. Also, I have used the polyester sleeping bags and they are no comparison to the sleep comfort that a down filled and cotton sleeping bag gives to you. In addition, the quality of the material is stronger than the light weight polyester covering and the synthetic filler material. The military sleeping bags are heavy but you will receive a good sleep. I cannot operate efficiently without a good night sleep and enjoy the campout or hike.

This is NOT the exact same thing as the the US military extreme cold bags. The people giving 5 stars have probably never had a real one before.I purchased this to replace the one i have had for years. Right away you can tell the fill and feel is not right. It is obviously lower quality as if the most important part, the down fill, has been replaced. It is much lighter and does not have the same quality, texture and feel, or fill as the real Military Extreme Cold bags. Very disappointed for the price.

I got this bag in case the heat goes out for days in the house. I read an article that suggests erecting a pup tent on your bed and sleeping inside of it in a sleeping bag. I also got a candle to heat tents (UCO Original Candle Lantern Kit, Amazon $21.99). I never used a candle in a pup tent but the Marines that did said it got so hot they could hardly stand it. The article mentioned common sense things like putting cardboard over your windows to hold in the heat.I would love to get out in the woods again but health and finances will probably prevent this.I used this same type bag off and on for 10 years every time my Marine Corps unit went into the field. I found it very satisfactory.

I have purchased 4 of these.I ended up giving 3 away to homeless people. One man said it was the best thing anyone ever gave him.It is the best sleeping bag. I wouldn't even consider any others. It will keep you toasty in extreme cold weather.
