First time nitro user
I’ve done plenty of guitar bodies with stain, shellac and gun oil but thought I’d try nitro. I’ve always wanted a sonic blue Strat and I had a project body I wasn’t using. I didn’t want to put money into a compressor/sprayer outfit so I figured I’d give rattle can a shot. I bought this and the white vinyl sealer. This can came with the adjustable nozzle that Stew-Mac sells and I can say after using the normal nozzle that came on the sealer that the adjustable nozzle is much better to control your spray. Researched the forums for advice and I can say that no matter what you hear, nitro is a very forgiving paint. Patience is key. Make sure you get a good respirator. Note this is not the faded sonic blue on so many Fender strats today which is a great color but is probably closer to the true sonic blue color it was back in the day before aging. It is a great color for a Strat or Tele. Looks nice with mint or eggshell pickguard.

to me it's daphne blue
great application, only downgraded it to one star because to my eyes it is more daphne blue. not that i care, i love both, but side by side with 2 other sonic blue guitars this is different.

Beautiful looks and Tone
I used their Sanding Sealer and the Clear Gloss in multiple coats. The wood was too beautiful to cover up even with their opaque colors. Even more importantly, this DIY semihollow guitar kept its wonderful resonant tone. Even the luthier was impressed. I will use their classic colors on another project where the wood doesn't have great figuring but now I know it won't deaden the tone.

Awesome color that really covers all without streaking.
I did a kit and by following instructions this color made my finished product look like it was just bought from a music store. I recommend this highly for every guitar builder.

Really Great Product!
Very satisfied with this product...having zero experience with refinishing I was able to complete a project and be happy with the outcome...color is as advertised...quick tip go very light on your coats to avoid dripping!

It might be 5 star paint.
Painted a Strat with this. The color is spot on. The application was very good. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars may not be the paint's fault. It was pretty hot when I painted, and I did get some blisters in the paint. I was able to sand them out, and you'd have to look very closely to see the issue. The only reason I think it MIGHT be a paint issue is because I painted another guitar a couple of weeks earlier with different paint that didn't blister. It was hot both days. I just don't know if it was hotter when I used this paint.Posting a pic of the final color.(Edit 6 years later) - I bought this paint again recently for another guitar, and the tip on these cans is terrible now. Both the paint and the clearcoat were splattering messes. Thank God it’s nitro, so I was able to eventually get the project done. I have painted a lot of guitars - this was the worst experience with nitro I’ve ever had.Color is great, tho.
